This might be my favorite Danny Kaye movie. An absolute classic: really funny (Pellet with the Poison!), great songs, and always leaves me sublimely happy. Danny Kaye = happiness!

Found this to be a very funny, very clever film. Laughed out loud a great deal. Too bad comedies just aren't made like this anymore.

"The pellet with the poison's in the vessel with the pestle, the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true"

How people think this movie is funny is beyond me. Way too cheesy and nowhere near the classic comedy of The Nutty Professor.

Danny Kay was hilarious in this one. Anyone who has not seen it, please Do! The vessel with the Pestle has the brew that is true, or maybe it is the Flagon with the dragon? .Get it?. Got it. Good.

This movie is absolutely hilarious. Danny Kaye will have you in stitches, when; he doesn't have you singing along (yes, it is a musical.). It always puts me in a great mood when I watch it.

What do you get when you mix Robin Hood with the Musical Comedy genre? Well this of course. I would say this is far more of a comedy that anything else and it succeeds brilliantly on that count. It includes that glorious and long suffering villain actor, Basil Rathbone who can?t ...( read more)even be allowed to defeat funny man Danny Kaye. The most memorable scenes involve that poison and the vessel with pessel. Try to keep up if you can on that one, it is extremely hard to repeat that yourself so it is no wonder it is so hilarious to see Kaye stumble around with it. What fun!

It takes a brilliant man to play a fool...either that or an idiot. An romp of a Medieval comedy that is a family favorite of ours. This is comedy at it's finest.
