the first time i watch this movie..i think i was 6 or 7 yrs. old....it was played in the laser disc before...ahhahah!!! its very old movie though....but its very beautiful movie...this is my all time fav movie!!!!!!!!!
One of my favourite films of all time! A beautiful Rom Com with a dollop of the Olympics. My perfect movie. It's a shame Moira Kelly didn't star in many big movies afterwards, she is definately one of those actresses that is too underappreciated.
This is me being mushy thus the selection of Cutting Edge - a feel-good love story that combines sports and drama. Just to justify my comments about the movie, this is probably one movie that I've watched more times than any other.
I love this movie! the chemistry between the 2 characters is very amusing! If you like to see people who suck at something then turn awesome then this is a must see! ::|::Favorite::|::
I love chick flicks and this is one of my all time favorites. I have no idea why I am such a sucker for anything that involves professional ice skating, but I am. This movie is the perfect combination of ice skating and love story. Of course the crude hockey player and perfect princess with an attitude adds to the greatness.
brilliant, this ia great film the only thing i wish it had was better stunt skating inbetween i wanted more routines, more wow factor more torvil & dean but still a fab movie.
i thought it was really good because it was funny and i liked it because they were so mean to each other until the end. the ending was okay like they told eachother they loved eachother and thats good but they never told them if they won the skating compatishion or if Kate retired so maybe there will be a second movie or maybe there is all ready and i have not seen it but thats what i think if this movie!! over all, it was an awesome movie!!!
Really sweet movie. Of course the actors can't skate, but that doesn't matter. You just love the chemistry between the two of them. Anyone different wouldn't do it. How they argue and disagree, it just works. Love the slapshot bit and when he first arrives and has to get used to the toe-pick! Great movie.
Want to see someone overact? Just watch Moira Kelly in this movie. D.B. Sweeney on the other hand, is effortless, charming and funny. This movie has a simple, predictable but ok plot, but Moira Kelly just ruined it for me.
At the 1988 Winter Olympics at Calgary we see Doug Dorsey battered in a vicious hockey game against West Germany. We then see a Kate doing her program and falling when a lift goes bad. Both have fought all their life to get to the Olympics and suddenly the dream has been shattered. The movie then follows a tempermental but talented figure skater Kate through many partners until finally her coach resorts to recruiting a hockey player. Through the difficult training of 15 hours of skating a day they finally prepare for Nationals and the Olympics. A romance is budding and their final show could bend or break them as they try to achieve their dreams of an Olympic Gold medal.
A hockey player named Doug Dorsey (D.B. Sweeney) an a temperamental skater named Kate Moseley (Moira Kelly). They work together to become a pair to be reckoned with both on and off the ice. Can they find true love and a gold medal at the same time? Doug & Kate can win to pull out their secret weapon called; the deadly "Pamchenko" jump.
They never became famous, but I think Moira did a great job and so did D.B. Loved the characters. Poor lighting or production thingy. Overall, movie was great.
It's a fantastic, witty movie. A great romantic, comedy centered around the figure skating world. But it's also a movie that is meant to be enjoyed in a group.
