Somewhat linear and very dated now, but the story of persistence and dedication - not to mention patriotism, still shines through

An excellent tale of heroism during the dark days of world was 2. The acting may be slightly stilted at times, and the special effects not quite there, but for a film made in 1953-54 it is excellent. I would not watch a politically correct remake.

A patriotic true story of British exploits during WWII. Fantastic performances from the whole cast, unforgettable theme music, a gripping climax, and a heartbreaking final scene with Richard Todd. Stirring stuff!

This movie shows Britain's resilience and their determination to overcome German domination. It has a great story based on actual WW2 events, good classic cast also.

October 12, 2006simply the best no to ways about it there remaking it with that jackson fellow who made lord of the rings and unbelivble thare going to rename the dog trigger because of political correctness, does this mean that the code word for a breach in one of the dams will have to be changed as well. come on criss lets live in the times and keep historical acuracy. oh and please please please dont make the remake so that it tells us that the americans done it all cos let me tell you thay didnt.
