  And Natalie was actually in it, just in the short clip called "Hotel Chevalier" before the feature part of the movie.

  Natalie Portman was in the short film - prequel to this film in which she acted as Jason Swartzman's ex-girlfriend (whom he twice or thrice tapped into her phone messages and whom he was last said to be meeting in Italy). The short film is connected to this film and is indeed significant to Jason Shwartzman's character.
