    Sooooo disappointing. Big named stars with rotten dialogue, no action, and slooow moving. Don't bother to watch this movie.

    It's a shame The Deal didn't get a theatrical release, because it's one of the better Hollywood satires I've seen. Based on a book by one of my favourite authors, Peter Lefcourt, it follows Charlie Burns, a down-and-out producer, find his way back into the game by stealing his ne...( read more)phew's quiet period drama script and turning it into an epic action extravaganza with a martial arts star. Never mind that the orginal film was about a Jewish politican, and the star cast in the lead role is black. Charlie is brutally honest to the point of offending and insulting everyone he speaks to, yet his smarmy charm still manages to get things done. This is a smart satire, lots of laugh out loud moments with subtle jokes thrown in between.

    Not Macy's best work but it keep me intrigued enough to watch it.
