  • October 2, 2009
Much like Starsky & Hutch, this awful film has the audacity to try and remake/rejuvenate/make shit loads of money from a very fond childhood memory. I really can't think of anything good about it except for Lynda Carter, and she wasn't even given any screen time! Far too many ego...( read more)s in this one, none bigger than Jay Chandrasekhar's. When they've made a sequel, and none of the original cast members come back to star in it, you know it?s a bad film. Utter garbage! I really can't wait for the A-Team remake! *sighs*

It's hilarious! Really funny... entertaining! I love it.
  • September 23, 2009
An unsuccessful attemp to remake the good old tv serial with the same name. Nothing common with it.
  • September 14, 2009
I am a fan of Jay Chandrasekhar's work. My favorite part of this movie was the brief reference to "Supertroopers", the rest of it just didn't seem as funny as it should have been coming from a guy with the chops of Chandrasekhar.

    Pretty funny, liked the racing.

INSULT TO THE INTELLIGENCE OF AN APE

Le duo Knoxville/Scott est écoeurant! J'ai beaucoup ri! Et j'ai toujours aimé Jessica Simpson. These boots are made for walking... j'adore cette toune-là!

    seen the beginning and ending

As a fan of the orignal show, I have to admit I didn't hate it. That's about the best I can do, here. It's the loud, crude and rude cousin of the original. While it tries to tell a story similar to what they had on TV, I found I never quite enjoyed the ride as much.
On the plus...( read more) side there is a lot less bluegrassy twang. Some people may not like this, but blasting through the country to AC/DC seems a little more appropriate to me. (Yeah that probably was me going by your house with Shook me All Night Long blaring and a black dog hanging out the window. But I digress)
Jessica Simpson made a passable (and highly lookable) Daisy while Knoxville and Scott seemed dummied down versions of the famous cousins. I still can't warm up to Willie Nelson as Uncle Jesse. Boss Hogg was a touch more menacing with Burt Reynolds in the role, as was M.C. Gainey's Roscoe.
Part of what made the series work was that Boss and Roscoe were bumbling fools outsmarted at every turn by "them Duke boys". Well, the tables have turned and now the Dukes come across as less intellignent and its only through blind chance and poor script writing that they save the day. Think Maxwell Smart in blue jeans.
All in all it seemed thrown together for no better reason than to make a few nostalgia bucks by flinging Dodge Chargers around.

Two "good old boy" cousins - Bo and Luke Duke, who with the help of their eye-catching cousin Daisy and moonshine running Uncle Jesse - try and stop Hazzard County's corrupt commissioner Boss Hogg from destroying their family farm. In their famed 1969 orange Dodge Charger called ...( read more)"The General Lee", the "Duke Boys" steadily find themselves in evade authorities while keeping them one step ahead of the dimwitted antics of the small southern town's Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane.

Directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, The Dukes Of Hazzard features great acting performances from the following cast:
    1.) Johnny Knoxville (Luke Duke)
2.) Seann William Scott (Bo Duke)
    3.) Jessica Simpson (Daisy Duke)
    4.) Burt Reynolds (Boss Hogg)
5.) Joe Don Baker (Governor Jim Applewhite)
    6.) Willie Nelson (Uncle Jesse)
    7.) M.C. Gainey (Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane)

Although I haven't watched the original Dukes Of Hazzard TV series, at least I've heard of it when the movie adaptation came out in theaters back in 2005. And I'm not sure if either version is better than the other, so I don't know. I say that this film version of Hazzard is at all humorous, and I have to watch good comedic moments throughout as the Deep South and its imagery and traditions just got funnier. Driving the "General Lee" is one thing, for example, even if its Confederate flag cover is a symbol of war. It's nice to see great acting performance here, especially with Jessica Simpson's Daisy Duke who gets her boots made her walkin'.

Very good, though not a loyal adaptation of the TV series. Don't expect Dukes fans to like it! However, as a stand-alone movie, it's quite fun. Just look at the cast! Mayhem! And I like it!

I remember the television show as a kid. It was one of my favorites growing up. But this film was a different take on the show. We still get all the same characters with Bo, Luke, Daisy, Uncle Jessy, Boss Hogg and Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane. Plus we get the General Lee doing tons...( read more) of car stunts and chase scenes. What I expected going in. The film is updated for a new generation. Full of nudity and violence compared to the show. Jessica Simpson in her cut off shorts was a nice choice for the role as Daisy. Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott were funny as Bo and Luke Duke. Burt Reynolds was actually a really good Boss Hogg. The film is just for pure entertainment popcorn fun.

  • June 29, 2009
The Dukes of Hazzard was a great movie, I even thought it was better than the TV show. It had lots of well done stunts that looked really sweet on the big screen and all the actors did a great job with this movie.
  • June 24, 2009

  • June 9, 2009
I don't really get why it was such a big deal for Jessica Simpson to be in this movie, she wasn't in it for very long. It wasn't really as good as it could have been.
  • June 7, 2009
not even close to the tv seires
