Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"Laurence Olivier gives one of his most riveting, Oscar-nominated performances in this bleak drama about a selfish, aging, pathological vaudevillian."
‑ Emanuel Levy, EmanuelLevy.
"One of Olivier's best roles; overall production A+."
‑ Steve Crum,
"Olivier is terrific in this engrossingly sad depiction of a fading music hall performer."
‑ Dan Lybarger, Nitrate Online

‑ Dennis Schwartz, Ozus' World Movie Reviews
"Olivier is marvelous. A winner."
‑ Bob Bloom, Journal and Courier (Lafayette, IN)
