this is totally one of a kind and best movie of all time since the exorcist..it has a deeper meaning and message to the people..its between science and religion..i believe in paranormal, same as to father moore..also i'l like to recognized emily and the lawyer of father moore..they are a very good actress..definitely...and it scares me a lot after i seen it..the 3 am thing..it really is!!!its a different kind of scary movie i mean compare to horroer or suspense..its like after u seen it, many questions are comes up to ur mind..this is definitely "two thumbs up"a movie that will recognize today, tommorow and in the future...

A really gripping, and fascinating, story. This movie had me gripped from start to finish and the performances and direction were first rate. It isn't your classic horror movie by any stretch of the imagination but it is a frightening story none the less.

The exorcism of emily rose didnt scare me like i thought it would, it had a much deeper story than i imagined. The story was about what you believe paranormal things to be and whether you look at them from a scientific point of view or a religous pont of view. The film asks lots of questions about science and faith but you have to find your own answers. The performances from the actors/actresses were amazing and you really felt for the characters. I was expecting something scary and came out with something questioning what i believed and has left me thinking about paranormal/exorcisms ever since.

This is one of my favorite film, I really loved it. A good thriller really. I loved Jennifer's performance as Emily Rose, man she's the best.When one reads here the opinions of a lot of fellow cinema lovers on this film they will realise that there are a lot of creditable variables by which one perceives the ''right'' course this film should have taken.
To my mind though, technicalities and possible directorial ''irregularities'' are not what's most important about this film.This film shows strong ,excellent performances by all the main actors and the director has managed to make this seem like a real story that could have happened to just anybody.
We don't see the horrible violence of ''The Exorcist'' nor are the images and scenes shown as scary.What we see, lays emphasis on the drama and suffering of a girl and touches on the human side of things.I think that the perspective of this film is to a have more a social impact,not so much to be a horror film.
It conveys a lot of messages and stresses how important it is to have integrity how sometimes you have to sacrifice your ambitions ,to do what your heart tells you.How some life experiences change us,our personality,and give us a true,deeper wisdom and understanding of life.How they can make us revise some views that previously we thought were unshakeable.
Finally,the film provides an explanation why sometimes God allows some horrible things to take place and some people to become martyrs.
I do agree though that for a materialistic,atheistic person this film might be less ''thrilling'' than he would have expected it to be. I have called it a ''modest masterpiece'' because in a simple,humane,full of strong performances way,it touches our hearts and strengthens our beliefs in justice,moral values, and for those of us who believe, in God and His mercy.posted 711 days ago -

I like to think that im open to any option in any category you can think of (im not). Im not a christian, athiest or whatnot, i keep my mind open to extreme possibilities. This movie, actually got me frigtened of demons. Its storyline is a true one, so dont bother trying to judge that. The performances, especially from the young Jennifer Carpenter as the possesed girl, are convincing and gripping. No matter what you beleifs, this movie will keep your heart wrappen in barbed wire until the end. Leaving you with something special indeed.

first off..(bigd2k6) there is no first movie(idiot seems to be talking about THE EXORCIST)and secondly this movie touched me on so many levels...The strenght of belief/faith, the acceptance of your fate, and Complete and utter devotion to God.

It was a sad and pathetic movie. It does not go anywere near the classic. This movie was a heap of over-rated junk. There was nothing interesting about this film, I sat through it hoping for something of interest to happen, but nothing did. It was just a useless attempt to match up with the first movie, which could never be beat.
