Look at the cover....just look at it. I did many times as a kid during the sweet days of VHS in the 80's. I never got around to seeing it back then, god only knows why (maybe only available in BETA where i rented from back then??) Anyways, this flick starts off with a cool but also kinda cheesy beheading...from there it kinda gets soft and dullish until the EXTERMINATOR first starts his rampage with the aid of an M-16 rifle and sewer rats haha! At that point on, i started to really enjoy this flick. COOL NYC locales (42nd Street!!) and some tasty violence in this gritty dirty movie... and CHRISTOPHER GEORGE!! The man exudes class with his fly open and a non chalant look on his face in a hospital hallway!! Awesome!! And does the man not make a tasty looking hotdog?!?! This movie is for fans of Death Wish 2 and Taxi Driver. Watch for the nice dog attack and beautiful lines such as "that NIGG*R was my best friend you motherfu*ker!"
I don't get where the exterminator hate comes from. Sure it didn't make complete " sense" some of the time, but I kind of enjoyed that. "I think you need to take a shit. It's coming out of your mouth instead of your asshole." Best quote I've heard in the last week! I don't think of it as being "so bad it's good", but more like " so ridiculous it's awesome". I make such a distinction.
Just recently re-visited this grindhouse exploitation cheapie...Still very violent by today's standards but it's simple tale of revenge amongst the scum is no more on offer then a zillion other revenge flicks..except this one used to be banned in Australia
