The moment is incredibly moving and unforgettable and captures the essence of the father/son relationship in a way that I have never seen more eloquently expressed.

This might be seen as a typical working class British comedy....except for one scene.

John Mills (Ezra Fitton) without saying a word was just superb.

My favourite scene in any film bar none and deserves a 10 star rating for the performances alone.

A British film set in 1960's working class England about a newlywed couple trying to make it through the early days with constant bad luck. The film provides light entertainment with a simple plot which allows you to get to know the characters fairly well. The film also makes a s...( read more)ubtle statement about the conditions and social expectations of the time. Good acting and mild humour carries the film through to be quite entertaining! A must see British film!
