This is by far THE BEST MOVIE I WILL EVER HAVE SEEN.... that never commercially released to the public.

However, I suppose if this were on VHS back when my brother and I were watching stuff like Captain America, Flash: Revenge Of The Trickster, and Dick Tracy, then I'm sure it would've been an excellent childhood video tape considering that it already has that kind of air about the film!

Made only to keep a license... check. Roger Corman directing... check. Bad special affects... check. There is nothing worse than this movie. Not even death.

    THE FANTASTIC FOUR (1994)
    directed by Oley Sassone
starring Alex Hyde-White, Jay Underwood, Rebecca Staab

The acting is terrible, the writing almost just as bad, the film is campy and unbearable. I know, it almost sounds like Im talking about the Fantastic Four with Jessica Alba you all see, but this one, believe it or not, is even worse.

Produced by legendary producer Roger Corman, this film was never intended to be released, it was shot for the simple reason that if a film wasnt made by a certain date the studio would lose the rights to Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's comic book.

The film begins like an episode of Beverly Hills 90210 with Reed Richards, Victor von Doom and Ben Grimm as college student. Susan and Jonny Storm are still kids at that point, but they know Richards cause he lives at their house. An experiment goes bad and von Doom is left for dead. Ten years later, the four remaining characters go in space for the continuation of the experimental that went a couple of years later, but von Doom now a super-villian, destroy their ship but not before the fantastic four are bombarded with cosmic rays. They survive but consequences are obligatory. One can stretch his body, the other is a man-thing looking like a rock, the girl can become invisible at will and the last produces fire. Together they will have to fight for their freedom and those villains that come out of no-fucking-where without any explanations at all.

I know, I give this film too much words in my review. Its so cheesy and corny and everything else. It looks worse than an episode of the Power Rangers. There is no compentence to be seen anywhere in this film. It feels like they assume we all know everything about the comic book bringing characters in but never showing us where they came from, but I guess it was quite faithful to the source material. I didnt think I could finish it, I couldnt find a way to laugh at it anymore, it was simply too painful. I think their costumes is going to give me nightmares.

Pretty much a lost film to the mainstream. But if your a geek like me you can find a copy at the closest Con. Alright the Roger Corman produced FF is definatly a flawed film. The acting is bad, the effects are almost as bad as the acting. BUT this film has heart. Its way better than that shit Hollywood put out in 05. For the budget this film was made on its a wonder they could pull half of the shit off that they did. Seriously..this was made with heart on a budget that would only buy most a can of peas.

This is a really bad movie. I like it a little just because I am a big fan of the characters but the movie was just poorly made. All of the effects were sub par and the acting was really bad. Johnny Storm was so annoying you want to skip all the scenes that he is in. It's also a little creepy as the beginning of the movie opens showing you that Reed and Ben are college students living at the Storm boarding house. Sue and Johnny are little kids. Sue is in love with this college kid and when they meet up in later years she might be 19 or 20 and Reed with the gray hair is all lovey dovey over her. And the story is just poor with a part put in that reveals that the Thing could change back into a man if he really wanted to.

This one was made with the intention of not being officially released to the public because the company that had the rights to the property would have lost the rights if it was not made by a certain date.

Since i have not seen this movie i can not comment on the look of the movie or the story but i hope to one day get a copy and watch it to see the very first Fantastic Four movie all for myself.

Johnny Fire....a great comedian! Plus they are all great super-heroes that use their powers to fight criminals.

Roger Corman's 1994 "The Fantastic Four" film is definitely low-budget, but there's something charming out it; which can't be touched in the big-budget 2005 blockbuster about the same heroes. The characters seemed closer to the comic book. The first half of the movie was their origin story. Then the Four go up against a Leprechaun-like jewel thief and then Doctor Doom. The effects are cheapo and hilarious. We don't get to see the heroes utilize their super-powers enough.
Sadly only a poor-quality dubs exist for the fans to experience, but it's a curious-flavoured treat to view.
