Plot: Set in a time of sword and sorcery, THE FLIGHT OF DRAGONS is an epic animated adventure spanning time and space. Peter Dickenson (John Ritter) is a modern-day man of science. Designing video games for...( read more read more... ) a living, Peter is astonished when he's magically transported from the 20th century back to mystical times to battle Ommadon (James Earl Jones), an evil wizard bent on destroying the land. Accompanied by a fiery dragon, an outlaw elf, a chivalrous knight, and an over-the-hill magician, Peter sets out on a quest to capture the Red Crown that empowers the wicked sorcerer.

A precursor to directors Jules Bass and Arthur Rankin's epic TV series THUNDERCATS, THE FLIGHT OF DRAGONS includes a plethora of fantasy creatures--orcs, elves, dwarves, and, of course, dragons. Featuring an array of voices, including Ritter, Jones, Victor Buono, and Harry Morgan, the film successfully captures all the essential DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS-like elements and places them in a setting that is both educational and entertaining.

Absorbing and magical animated feature from the makers of "The Hobbit" and "The Last Unicorn", it's their greatest movie yet. Great voict acting by John Ritter, Harry Morgan and James Earl Jones and plenty of action with intelligence and wit makes this a winner.

this film is one of the main memories i have gorwing up. this film is and was everything that could see past the reality of the world and inspired a small girl to believe in things, no mater what science might say. there are few film i love as much as this one, but this is a fab movie, show it to your kids and give a bit of the magic to them. the artwork brings the original illustrations from the book to life and you will laugh smile sigh and cry if you just let yourself go on a journey.

I loved this flick as a kid. in a time where shows like spongebob, pokemon and barney all seem to be the rage with the kiddies these days, i'm more than ever committed to having my future kids enjoy quality children's flicks.

In the style of many classic 1980 fantasy cartoons, this movie is one of the few to sympathize with the march of progress, as well as making some minor social commentary on the Cold War, instead of merely dramatizing the tragic loss of nature and magic.

A modern day man joins up with a wizard to combat evil in a fantasy world.

    Very well-voiced, great story.

    Kids will love it.
