Like the Addams Family movie, this adaptation of "The Flintstones" really gets it right. The casting is spot-on, and the props and scenery all look like they were lifted directly from the TV show. Very well done.
A star studded cast rocks out in Bedrock in this Spielberg comedy based upon the most popular Hannah Barbera cartoon of all time, (yes, at the time even bigger than Scooby Do). In the movie version, it?s a fun family comedy with some saccharine sprinkled here and there, but innocent enough to be liked by fans of the series and their children. The only really bad miscasting is actress Liz Taylor, as herself, walking into the room and playing a version of herself, instead of the character of Wilma?s Mom. John Goodman IS Fred Flintstone.
Misguided attempt at a live action movie version of the TV series. Bit of a mess really but it never really had a chance no matter what the level of talent was involved.
DID not realise halle berry was in this? serously. but ah well. great movie adaption of a great cartoon. very very funny. john goodman really was a perfect choice!!!
I used to watch to the cartoon version of the Flintstones, and with pleasure! This film in it's remark is really nice, it's funny and you can laugh! Now and then the plot is quite predictable, but it's still amusing! In my opnion the comstums and settings were all outstanding and it makes simillair remarks to the cartoon version! They were just excellent! As Fred Flintstone might have put it: yabba-dabba-doo!
blech as someone i cared for said too me so im passing it on what was halle berry doing slumming here this is almost as bad when she played in baps yick again
It's the flinstones' live action movie and... that's it, but come on, everybody knows that any effort to turn the flinstones into live action will have a regular or a bad result, let's thank God it was regular.
Trouble is there is no way any live action production could touch the brilliance of the cartoon, whose magic is dependent upon the time and the creative talent that existed for that series. There have been updates and revisions and like this live action adaptations but the lightning is out of the jar. Good casting though for the 2 leads of Barney and Fred everything else is just far enough off that it just doesn't feel right.
Even though it's rumored this film had more than sixty writers, it seems that none of them gave a crap about how it turned out. Don't expect a smart comedy, or even a mediocre one. It is exactly what it looks like: a painfully long, live-action version of the cartoon.
Great fun for the whole family ! Cast is great and they look and sound alot like the cartoon characters we all know and love!! A must see for the who family !!!
Like Scooby Doo, this could have been so much more and so much better. But it's not. Some good live action potrayal of cartoon characters but that's not enough to save a lame, boring and unfunny story.
