Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"I like Disney-style adolescent adventures and I like The Sopranos, but, unlike peanut butter and chocolate, these are not two great tastes that taste great together."
‑ Sean Means, Film.com
"At times it's a rather light-hearted family adventure. But parts of it also become a mean-spirited crime thriller. That light-dark contrast doesn't quite work."
‑ Jeff Vice, Deseret News, Salt Lake City
"Don't be fooled by the Kids in the title, this is one terrific action drama, with a few comedic grace notes"
‑ Andrew L. Urban, Urban Cinefile
"One of the best action movies you and your kids could see this summer. At least look for it on video."
‑ Tim Cogshell, Boxoffice Magazine
"It's like two stories unfolding in parallel universes."
‑ Robert W. Butler, Kansas City Star
"One of the summer's nicest surprises..a mostly family-friendly adventure that doesn't rely on superheroes or science fiction to get your pulse racing..."
‑ Bruce Bennett, Spectrum (St. George, Utah)
