I am kung fu fanatic so this movie was right up there for me. Loved the action scenes and the cinematography was awesome. The story was cute as were most of the lead actors.
Artistry thumbs up but it had a real crappy storyline to it. You'd think with havin Chan and Li in the same flick would make for a mind blowing film but sadly I was mistaken and left rather disappointed!g
They Had a great combination off Humor (Jackie Chan who else) and action, I were pleased to see that Jet Li had a humor side in acting. me and my friend had a great time watching this movie.
OMG great movie with alot of good action scenes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and best of all...... it has jackie chan and jet li in it! not as funny as i thought tho but still a gr8 movie
I really enjoyed the movie. It had a believable storyline. And being a kung-fu fan myself, I enjoyed the fight scenes totally. I would definitely watch it again and recommend it to all my friends.
While the idea that Jet Li and Jackie Chan finally team up may seem like a fantastic idea, it definitely should not have been in this.
Whether or not, The Forbidden Kingdom was suppose to come off as a somewhat cheesy martial arts film is still uncertain to me, but nethertheless, it wasn't handled well at all.
Not only does the story have about as much entertainment value as watching grass grow, the acting also becomes progressively bad thanks to both the actors themselves and the tasteless, uninspired script.
Jackie Chan proves he can't be taken seriously, Jet Li proves he isn't that great of an actor and Michael Angarano fails at proving himself worthy of becoming the hero of the story.
In this predictable, corny homage to martial art films the only thing that really stands out is the score (which i believe to be the best thing about the film). Coming second was only a handful of fight scenes.
For Obvious reasons, i'd recommend something along the lines of "Crouching tiger, hidden dragon" instead of this. Purely for the cheese factor.
But I spose kids may like it (but they don't know any better)
You can't really go wrong with a combination of Jackie Chan and Jet Li. Add in a hottie in the guise of Bingbing Li (yes I have done my homework and she is the right side of 25) and you should find yourself enjoying this one. Jet Li plays the Monkey King (and if there is ever going to be a Monkey movie then he has my vote for the role). It's no block buster but it does what is says on the can. Nothing special but I liked it!
NB: Did I mention that Bingbing Li is very hot as the white haired witch.
Still the same "journey to the West" concept, but modified a bit... It's OK for me... Only I wonder why they didn't make out who Monkey King reincarnated as in the present..
aside from the fact that the story is an androgyny of classic chinese myths, two of the best martial arts actors as the lead made the movie very very much interesting.
grate movie if you like comedy and kung-fu fighting i mean common Jackie Chan and Jet liegh (don't think i spelled them right though hope anyone that reads this can figure it out lol)
youd expect a jacki chan and jet li film to be out of this world, well it is, but into a world full of cheesy storylines and kick ass moves, this film could of been made in the 1990's and was a major let down
