    A lumber tycoon named D.J. Mulrooney (Walter Brennan) & his Grandchildren named Elizabeth (Karen Dotrice) & Rodney (Matthew Garber) find a tiny clan of gnomes named Jasper (Tom Lowell) is desperately seeking a bride & his 943 year old Grandfather named Knobby (Walter Brennan) be...( read more)fore he died in the redwood forest. Elizabeth trusts the gnome to agree to help him find one & brings her Grandpa D.J. & brother: Rodney.

    They arrive in the wood to find Knobby is communicating the gnomes. Jasper is ecognized by Rufus the Gnome King (Ed Wynn) as "the eligible gnome", who has a large number of young female gnomes in the wild race after Jasper in which one will marry him.

    Jasper will find his mate is smitten with one lovely, timid girl gnome named Shy Violet (Cami Sebring). Jasper & Violet manage to end the race.

    Many have not seen this one. It stars the same two children that played Jane and Michael from Mary Poppins, once again as brother and sister. They are vacationing in the California Red Woods region when they meet a Gnome! Incredible children's classic.
