Ok...this movie is a crap, it sucked...not the best performance of Kidman or Craig. That girl acted realy bad, the story was horrible, not like the books...it made no sence and thank God a sequel will not be made!!! And if their is..who will see it anyway...GIRLS WHO LIKES PONIES AND FASHION GIRLS WHO LOVE HANDSOME GUYS THAT SOON WILL TURN OLD AND UGLY? COME ON!!! DONT WASTE UR TIME SEEING THIS!!! I think, that anyone of you know, that Phill Pullman (The one that wrote this books) was truly atheist
The story behind the story that you know is that Phill Pullman, always hated C.S. Lewis, and what anyone of you can deny, is that this movie has something that shows us the truth of the Catholic Church, that they are hiding something, and that something, Phill Pulman thinks that is that God doesn't exist, while C.S. Lewis wrote books that talk of a lot of things that the bible says...
Talking about the movies, i liked this one, it was cool, but i think i'm gonna read the book cuz I didn't like it at all...

The actors were great Niclole kidman makes a great Mrs Coulter!
Compared to the book its pretty bad, The ending was stupid, and why???? Did Billy Costa die he was suppose to be saved! I hate it when things change!
Its totally messed up the sequels! Good luck whoever takes over for the next one =D

Lame movie. Too much fantasy, to the point i could not enjoy the movie. I do like the polar bear scene though, because of it effects. I do not recommend it for anyone, unless your into EXTREAME fantasy.

Compared to the book atrocious - linear, lacking in scope, dire script. Amazingly i thought it was saved by the talented cast and wonderful effects. Hope a director's cut is imminent and that chris weitz doesn't direct the sequels as his script was flat and relied way to heavy on exposition. warner bros (new line ain't around no more) should try an actual director as opposed to a guy who made two decent films; american pie and about a boy. i'm sure he's nice guy but i thought he did an inadequate job at adapting it

This Movie seems FOS when the first trailer came out.Then it is truly a FOS movie when released in Cinemas.Now I'm starting to hate cos it won for Best Visual Effects.

For anyone who did NOT read the books and have made claims that the series is "athiest" this book is children's literature. This is theologically contreversial but not athiest. This movie is entertainment. People need to see that they can beleive what they want. God has a portrayel in this series but it is never negative. Read ALL 3 books and your fears will be put to rest.

its a nice movie i'd love it..but while im watching it, i expecting more adventures esp. the fight scene of the polar bear..but it has a fantastic special effects, great casting and acting, hope the next movie will be more spectacular, more adventures and fight scenes...but all in all "two thumbs up"

I thankfully went to this movie for FREE and I still wanted my money back.
Besides the movie feeling like a long movie, it's only 1 and a half hours but it felt like it was dragging on forever...
The acting was ok but the blatent religion bashing got in the way of the story itself and actually left for little to be desired for this movie.
the only thing worth watching in this movie is the polorbear fight where the one bear gets his jaw ripped off.
so over all I would say wait for tv to watch this flick because unless you see it for free I would spend your $6 at the wal-mart bargin bin to buy a different crappy movie thats better then this drek.posted 205 days ago -

the books don't just make people atheist, they aim to make people question their faith, the only thing that would be sick would be to stop children educative works of literature that aide the development of the child's religious beliefs. The reason the catholic church boards have such a problem with this film is that the books question the authority of god, and as you may have seen in the film, the Magisterium is supposed to represent the church, which is shown as repressive. The whole point of the books is to help people open their eyes, plus it's a beautiful story, I hope the next 2 films will be better than this one though, it was crammed into 2 hours and many of the important parts of the book were missed out, and information was changed for no reason... anyway, do read the books, your faith should be stronger if you're worrying that this will brainwash people...

I have heard that the movie is more watered down on the atheist concepts, but the fact that the auther wants the kids to watch this, and then read the books which are more likely to make them athiests, and he wants that for the kids, that's a little sick. But whatever. That's just my opinion and if you're going to say something nasty back, just don't say it at all.

The author said in an interview that he hoped that by creating this movie, kids will get the books for Christmas and then become atheist. In my opinion, killing God is wrong so I will not see this movie. But that's just my opinion.

This movie is not about killing the God we worship! It's a fantasy world for crying out loud! Wait a tick, you'll watch movies about people getting hunted and killed by a murderer? You'll watch movies that glorify sex and violence? But you won't watch a fantasy movie where the over bearing deity is over thrown and killed? Wheres your equality and priorities Christians? Seems that if you were so strong in your beliefs you wouldn't watch any movie that wasn't put out by Disney! Do something constructive like help the homeless or rehabilitate crack babies and leave the small potatos aone. Or is that to hard and not worth the effort?
