Man oh man did this movie catch me off guard. Ashton did a very acceptable job and an actor i don't care for (costgner) did a superb job and changed my mind about his work.
OMG!!! i dont care wat anybody says this is the best movie ever made!!! No matter what i will always love this movie. It made me laugh, cry, love, and learn!!! Now Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher are two of my favorite actors!!! LOVED IT!!!!!
Just saw it yesterday. God, this movie was captivating. Has anyone else seen it yet? FUCKING AMAZING. It reminded me of, sort of, a cross between U-571 and Titanic. Absolutely a must see.
Serving the the US Coast Guard, I was involved in lots of rescue operations. This movie provided an accurate portrayal of how we prepared for the worst case scenarios and survived some wild rescue ops at sea.
31? Was that the number he mentioned at the end? What an excellent story. It was followed by an excellent ending. I'm not precisely sure why it didn't get 5 stars. Maybe the music score wasn't crazy good.
Loved this movie, the cast is great. the whole story is brilliant. It made me cry near the ending. Kevin Costner as usual has a great impact on the show and the emotions. Ashton Kutcher gave a great performance also.
The ending song; Bryan Adams - Never Let Go relates to the movie so well.
After putting off watching this film for almost 2 months I sat and watched and was very surprised with it. With mainly seeing Ashton Kutcher play stupid roles in the past I was pleasently surprised to see him play a serious role for a change. A high school swim champion with a troubled past enrolls in the U.S. Coast Guard's "A" School, where legendary rescue swimmer Ben Randall(Kevin Costner) teaches him some hard lessons about loss, love, and self-sacrifice. Taking a look into the training and responsability of the US Coast Guards I give this film a 4 star rating.
Very good but sometimes syrupy story of the elite Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers starring Costner as the grizzled veteran turned instuctor Randall butting heads with the eager to best every record recruit Fischer played surprisingly well by Kutcher. The movie takes familiar themes from famous 80's military movies like Top Gun and An Officer & A Gentleman but it is a little seen tribute to the men and women who risk their lives everyday to rescue people stranded at sea.
i enojoyed this film, after 2years or waiting for it, it didnt disapoint to much. however i was expecting more action scenes in the film like the nice chopper explosian at the start of the film but got more training scenes and story which was cool but just thoguht there was more action. the story was cool even thou it was obvious what was going to happen. its a film worth watching....
Nice water scenes, good acting, but the script had faults. Especially the ending was not convincing. Also, do they have to put ONE sample of woman soldier to every military movie?
What i liked about this one was the sacrifice they make for each other and
it makes you thankful for people like that out there who are in danger everyday to save others...Action , great movie.
i saw it last year!
