I wanted to like this movie so much, but in the end I just couldn't see anything really positive about it.

This movie has received a lot of bad press, but I thought it was pretty good. Yes, I agree with most people in that the ending was a bit ordinary, but otherwise, it had me completely engrossed for the entire duration. A little disturbing and downright chilling for the most part...( read more). At least Shyamalan has redeemed himself after Lady in the Water

Not happening to me. Close to rubbish and a waste of the talent at hand.
  • November 24, 2009
A Major disappointment. Previews made this flic look MUCH better than it turned out to be. That's the best I can say for it.
  • November 24, 2009
This is a seriously good movie. SERIOUSLY! It portrays of fears of inanimate object getting their revenge which are not really fears that we think about.
  • November 23, 2009
this film make your heart exercise
  • November 22, 2009
I was very enthusiastic about this movie when I first heard about it (being Shyamalan), but it turned to be really disappointing. The idea is great. It could have been an awesome film if it weren't for the comical side of it, the mediocre acting, and the stupid dialogues. I am st...( read more)ill hoping for a remake: same story line, but a little more serious.

Tutto ciò che ho da dire è: perché?
Shyamalan smettila pure di fare il regista, non mi puoi passare da The village o Lady in the water a 'ste schifezze.

  • October 22, 2009
The first 5 min of this film is good when people are jumping of building and killing each other for no apparent reason The remaining 1 hour and 25 min is a waste of your time.

Looked so promising yet fell short of delivering. Interesting idea but plants attacking us? Come on, now.

This is a film written, produced and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. First off the film has a solid cast. Stars Mark Walhberg and Zooey Deschanel. Basically the story starts off in New York when people begin to just kill themselves. They believe this is a airborne terrorist attac...( read more)k. Everyone begins to leave the city but death always follows. In the end we learn that nature is behind the deaths. The start of the film is quite good and kept me interested. Even the middle of the film once they found out what the cause of the deaths were from was kind of interesting. But it was the lack luster ending that killed the film for me. Sure I get the message that we should treat nature and the earth with more respect. But the ending did not seem to have any excitement?or real closure. Worth maybe a one time watch.

    Not what I was expecting.

I thought this was great. I was the only one in my family that did though. Luv Mark Wahlberg

Meh, u may wanna skip this, it might have been a good movie cuz the concept is kinda ok but they failed sorry.
  • October 14, 2009
i'm officially into the no M. Night Shyamalan zone now
  • October 14, 2009
    it was kindda boring
  • October 12, 2009
I hate this movie. Not M. Night Shyamalan's best work. The acting wasn't great, but more than anything, I just can't get behind the story.
  • October 12, 2009
I like the ending. I don't like Zooey Deschanel.
  • October 11, 2009
At first I thought M. Night Shyamalan was just getting worse, but now I think about it this movie isn't actually that bad. The problem is it's just the same as every other M. Night Shyamalan picture. You know the "happening" will be explained by some supernatural force, even if i...( read more)t is unusually ridiculous and terribly illogical in this case.

This film isn't nearly as bad as people say it is. I mean yeah, the writing is weak, and there is some woodenness and stiltedness in the performances, but the acting isn't completely terrible. The direction is good, and the concept is cool, and the cinematography is great. Don't ...( read more)see it for the writing or the acting. See it for the eerie mood, creepy atmosphere, and some really well done sequences (ie: some of the death set pieces, the appearance by Betty Buckley, and the emotional moments between Wahlberg and Deschanel.

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT
  • October 7, 2009
I liked all Night Syamalan's movies and this one is indeed scarry!
  • October 5, 2009
    Interesting premise, but awful acting.
  • October 3, 2009
loved it, Marky mark, sorry, mark wahlberg is excellent in this, I had it figured out pretty quick but it was a cool movie anyway
  • October 1, 2009
Nothing in this film works. It's ridiculous.
  • September 30, 2009
It seemed that I have underestimated Mr. Wahlberg's acting chops. What a brilliant performance! It occurred to me while I was watching the deleted scenes (especially the couples 'fight' in the beginning) that if Shyamalan made a romance-relationship film (maybe in a mumblecore st...( read more)yle) with Mr. Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel it would be the greatest film ever. I mean, those private, intimate moments between them were easily the most heart breaking parts of the film. The horror elements were fine and all for creating an effective context for those moments, but it could have been so much more. Nothing moves me more than love conquering all... yes, even suicide-inducing allergies.

weak ending it was cool until that point in the movie

"The first stage is confused speech. The second stage is physical disorientation, loss of direction. The third stage... is fatal."

Ok, everyone that knows me a little knows that I'm a sucker for Zooey Deschanel, but not even she could prevent this from being the trainwreck that ...( read more)it is. Shyamalan managed to outdo himself again since he's been making his worst film up to date every film since Signs. The story doesn't make any sense at all and there's some incredibly stupid scenes. Really, I'm hoping for a come back with The Last Airbender, but there's not much to hope for.

This movie is so freaking good.I wonder what it would be like if we could see things before they happend
  • September 24, 2009
I liked the theme of the movie allot, and many thoughts in and around it. also many great scenes in the movie, even though it felt as most of the good parts were cut. But the characters, yikes... with a story and theme such as this the movie could've been made so much better. ins...( read more)tead you're forced to sit thru the entire movie with these characters. and very very few scenes of the overall picture, only small things here n there, nothing on a large scale other than maps. very disapointing. so a low rating for this weak ripoff of the old stephen king classic.

i love M. Night Shyamalan movies but this one is a disappointment. really too bad. If you are a hardcore Shyamalan fan don't watch.. you will go insane.
  • September 22, 2009
I want my damn 2 hours back.
  • September 20, 2009
the premise should have been great but a lot of miscast all over the place from Mark Wahlberg to Jon Leguizamo... ending is ridiculous.... don't want it
  • September 19, 2009
"Does anybody know what is Happening!" I do. I went to see Shyamalan's latest thriller last night and I have to say although not his best work, it was just as much as engaging as his previous films. I did not look away for a second and there is your money's worth right there, it ...( read more)kept me glued to the screen.I enjoyed the odd casting they did for this film and the unusual story line. you gotta give it up for this guy. He churns out completely original stories. In a Summer filled with big budget comic book adaptations and comedy remakes its refreshing to see something so chilling and original. For M.Night fans this is a must see!

Although the themes and plot is great, there is certainly a lot lacking in this film and too much is left up to the imagination.
