In this drama set in 1944, small-town lawyer Harmon Cobb must defend the most hated man in town -- a man who represents pure evil. Cobb, whose son is overseas fighting for the allies, is talked into representing the accused. The town is out for blood, but Cobb uncovers evidence that may prove his innocence.
