This was an alright movie. The animation wasn't half bad which made the movie a little better. I loved Crusty! He was the best thing about the movie so I wish he was in it more! It did make me laugh a few times. Not a bad movie to see.
40 yrs before Nemo or Shark Tale there was The Incredible Mr. Limpet. This was really quite a piece of work for it's time. A mixture of live action and animation along with some very more stage lit type theatrical shots. All of this blends brilliantly and that coupled with the both sweet and entertaining performance by Don Knotts who sings rather dearly several tunes in the movie makes for a very good watch nearly 45 years after it was made. Though they didn't have the animation abilities back then as they do now, the story itself is so well written and quite clever and superior over many animated scripts written today.
a classic movie that i loved as a child. don knotts' peformance is wonderful & magical, & of course humorous. i will always remember "ladyfish" & how amazing it was to watch the cartoon & real-life versions of this movie. classic & wonderful family movie.
My favorite of the Don Knotts movies, which he yearns to see how fish live. And by a freak accident off the Conney Island pier, he becomes a fish that ends up helping the navy fight the Nazi's in WWII. The movie is shot in two formats, Live Action for humans, and animation for the underwater storyline. This is another great family movie that was destined to be remade with Jim Carrey, but never did happen.
Weird Don Knotts comedy blends live action and animation to tell the story of Henry Limpet, a man who loves fish. That is weird enough, but Limpet actually becomes a fish. Even weirder, this fish winds up aiding the Allies against the Nazis in WWII. This film will best entertain the kiddies, or a person who is medicated enough to get something profound out of it.
Surprisingly, this movie is just as fascinating for adults as children. With catchy music and acting that makes this absurb plot believeable, this movie warms the heart. It also gives way to some interesting thought...
