This film was shown on TV one Saturday afternoon. I had no intention of watching it but after catching the first ten minutes I decided I'd give it a go - and I'm glad I did. It's based, in part, on the author's real-life experiences and, as such, is all the more amazing to watch....( read more) It's extremely moving in places but not over-sentimental. The performances - including the lead child actor - are all pretty solid. And the tension is built up very well when called for. A good Saturday afternoon movie.
