omfg i forgot about this movie it is absolutely awesome
this is amazing movie I love it the stories of each mother is inspiring
This is a wonderful movie. Well worth seeing. It made me laugh and cry. Well done.
A Chinese-American woman comes of age, and comes to understand the lives of her mother and her mother's friends.
poignant. it seeps into you and its impossible to shake for many, many days after you've seen it. that's a good movie. heartwrenching, lovely, full of hope and real life.
I will admit to seeing this movie in the name of "my 1000th review". This movie is about a bunch of Asian chicks that have bad relationships with everything. Not terrible though.
I love this movie! Not only because I am of the Chinese heritage, but the words of wisdom from the mothers to their daughters is only as precious as real pearls.
tearjerker, i cant help myself i love mothers and i like to cry when watching this kind of moivies.
i hate crying, but i'll forgive this movie for making me cry so many times because it was pretty good.
This movie resonates with human truths between most mom's and daughters--no matter what the background. And I loved the book too!
I loved the book, and this adaptation wasn't bad either. Great acting. Great movie. Great story.
Another movie that made me cry in every scene. The women's stories show how they have been through the tough times. Shows how strong one can be.
If you're interested to take a peek on Chinese culture, watch Amy Tan's Joy Luck Club and learn more of it
"I like being tragic, Ma. I learned it from you". although I adore Amy Tan's writing, I was completely blown away by the film. all the women's heart-wrenching tales of survival and love (with insightful performances from the likes of one of my favorites Rosalind Chao) turned o...( read more)
Such a good movie. If you're looking for a great mother-daughter movie, this is it. Be prepared to cry.
Unbelievable beauty in the characters, setting, and story. The book is awesome, but watch this movie and you just might appreciate your mother more.
Yay for crazy Chinese families! It is moving, inspirational, and all those other cheesy squishy girlie feelings.
If you ever feel sad, watch this and you got to think; "I have it somehow much better, damnit..."
doesn't even compare to the novel but ming-na does her best. and this movie just reaffirms my love for waverly JONG.
that was such a sad movie, my eyes hurt when i was done watching it from crying!! :'( but it was good
A movie for all women, for all mothers and daughters. So poetic really, touching without being cheesy - most men just won't get it.
