July 11, 2007many similarities to my own family history - lots of drama. wayne wang did a great job of disstilling out the pivotal moments in each woman's story to bring her to the present.

June 15, 2007Powerful. Almost too much - but not quite! What do we really know about our parents' struggles and would it matter? This movie suggests it does. I am writing my memories of my dad and mom so that they will never be just two names on a tombstone in Utah.

May 14, 2007I can watch this movie over and over and I still CRY everytime. I can relate to this movie as Asian-American daughter of an Asian immigrant mother. I understand the daughters situation and the stories of the mothers make me understand mine more. But i think any mom and daughter...( read more)
