It follows and in some cases re-enacts the chronology of Shepherd's story. It mixes real news reports with actors portraying friends, family, cops, killers, and other Laramie residents in their own words. It?s an interesting story and it has a great cast but it?s just so wooden. By the time you?re Half way through you just don't care!

Interesting experiment. The "acted documentary" thing is often hard to swallow, but this is a story that deserved to be told, and the truth is that it works.

Mathew Shepard and beyond! What happened in Wyoming was a hate crime. Does it make everyone in the state a homophobe? Great cast!

The Laramie Project worked really well for me, mixing actual interview footage with acted scenes sounds risky but they get the perfect mix here. The talent on the acting side is of a high level and every body puts in strong performances. The story itself is a harsh one but one ...( read more)that needs telling and its handled very well.
