Cliche movie, but this movie is great because Bruce Willis has some of the best quotes ever. My fav comes at the end when he says "You can't just go up and punch a bad guy in the face. You have to say something cool first. Like if your gunna hit him with a surf board, you'd say Surf's up pal, or something like that".
This film sums up/sends up the 80's/early 90's action movie formula - mismatched buddies, bouts of slick, brutal violence and plenty of wisecracking. Bruce Willis first tries on the downbeat hero schtick he's come to master and it's actually a movie in which a Wayans isn't unsufferably rubbish or annoying. It's also got possibly the best ever dispatching of a bad guy ever in it - "Touch me again and I'll kill you".
One of those fun action movies that gets lost to the mists of time; if you didn't see it when it came out, chances are you'll never watch it. Sure, it's not going to impact your life one way or the other, but I thought it was a perfectly acceptable movie.
