One should not make the mistake of comparing this to the masterpiece "Garden State" just because Zach Braff is in it, only the soundtracks are similarly excellent. No, "Last Kiss" has a whole different kind of approach to love and relationships. A circle of friends in their late ...( read more)30s are in more or less steady relationship, some with babies or babies on the way, others coping with break ups or enjoying random sex. Braff's character is tempted by an adorable girl while his pregnant girlfriend tells her parents the happy news. Said parents are having their own problems...in short: the movie is a bit unfocused in the first half, trying to combine too many stories into the big picture. Once the focus returns to Braff's problem of a one night stand and the aftermath the film has its best moments without falling into stereotypes. Most romantic comedies would either punish the male with an unhappy ending for cheating or make him resist in the first place. The fact that "Last Kiss" doesn't see the world as black and white but a lot more realistic may be too much to handle for people with pink glasses, but it is actually the movie's biggest asset and makes for a pretty great ending.

Everyone in this movie seems to be having problems with their relationships. Do I love her? Or do I need a fling with this hot chick? I don't think I would have taken Micheal (Zach Braff) back.

When you have an overrated director (Paul Haggis) being hired to adapt an original screenplay of an Italian romantic comedy, while the remake's lead actor (Zach Braff) happens to be one of the most talented and creative young people in that country, that's when you know something...( read more) is truly wrong with American cinema.

Even though I like Zach Braff and Rachel Bilson, this movie wasn't good. Or it was probably good, but it was veeeery boring... at least in the beginning... so I couldn't concentrate. But if you look on the bright side it had some funny parts.

I saw the 2001 Italian original I'l Ultimo Bacio, some time ago and now I saw Tony Goldwyn's remake The last kiss which was very very close to its Italian origins. This movie was a dramatic romantic comedy and was not meant to be negative, but realistic. The movie had some comedic ...( read more)moments that work quite well and also dramatic ones, that were very well played. It was also a very honest movie that didn't make things seems right and it was not too melodramatic. The Last Kiss was a good entertaining movie for young adult and middle age.
