Critic Reviews

  • Jaime N. Christley, Slant Magazine

Rage, bitterness, sorrow, and beauty, all in unison against the dying of the light; Derek Jarman's poison love letter to England is presented in a passable HD transfer from Kino, in all its rag-and-bone glory.

  • David Bezanson, Filmcritic.com

I would say it's one of the worst films ever made, but that would make it sound more interesting than it actually is.

  • Nick Davis, Nick's Flick Picks

One of the most emotionally shattering and formally inspired movies of the 1980s.

Very interesting film illustrating the revolution of England and how ppl are revolting against the political issues. Its made like an experimental film so its very artistic. Not suitable for all viewers because some of its content but still worth a shot.
