Hollywood takes a steaming load on what should have been a great epic. It demoralizes not only the way of the samurai but the spirit of it as well, as the ending provides the most Hollywood conclusion possible (what one might consider the exact opposite of the will of the Samurai...( read more)

This is an excellent movie. The Samurai were a group of warriors who would give their lives to protect the Emporor of Japan, down to the last man. An American soldier, played by Tom Cruise, becomes one of these heros and was the sole survivor of a battle.
