He was the would-be outlaw of the 1970s country music scene, but somewhere along the line it all fell apart for Guy Terrifico (The Flashing Lights and The Superfriends front-man Matt Murphy). Perhaps it was his self-destructive impulses that did him in, or maybe just his inability to remain upright while ascending a simple flight of stairs. Though Terrifico may have never made it into the Grand Ole Opry, he still had a healthy fanbase that remains staunchly loyal three decades after his alleged death. Now, for the first time ever, the remarkable story of Terrifico's rise and fall comes to the screen in a tell-all film that doesn't flinch when it comes to the ugly truth. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Critic Reviews
-
Jennie Punter, Globe and Mail
Real-life references abound and it's a whole heck of a lot of fun hearing them because they're probably true.
-
Peter Howell, Toronto Star
Canada has no real star system, so it's a hoot in more ways that one to watch Michael Mabbott's ace mockumentary about a fabled country-rocker who transcends time and a possibly faked death to become a true Canuck immortal.
-
Dennis Schwartz, Ozus' World Movie Reviews
Enjoyable as a goof, but not much else came off sounding good.
-
Jim Slotek, Jam! Movies
A feel-good homage to the people taking part in it, a framework for various country-rock outlaws, miscreants and rascals.
-
Kevin Courrier, Boxoffice Magazine
The Life and Hard Times of Guy Terrifico is basically a one-note wonder.
