MCT:April 9, 2008High tech thriller about a National Security Agent (Michael Parks) who is a "listener"who after a life-time of service goes against the agency now tangled up with a multi-billion dollar corporation pandering phone-tapping technology to save a woman in Italy wrongly being targeted as a hit. James Parks (yes the son of Michael in real life) plays the bad guy & does it well here is one batardly evil salesman (of sorts) for the company. There was a LOT to take in here - more than my lil mind could wrap around perhaps. Still in all, nice to see Michael Parks who I've always admired and delivers a good perfomance here. This had a great surprise ending too. This is an Itailian film but is completely in English with the exception of a few lines in just a few scenes. (why oh why was the subtitles SO tiny though?) Sort of a Spagetti Thriller instead of a spagetti western - and for the most part I enjoyed.
The movie has made me look at my cell phone with new eyes & ears ...and wonder...just who may be listening. Scary stuff.
