Very good remake of the original, which starred Burt Reynolds. This is one of those 'good' Adam Sandler movies where you don't get the typical Sandler antics; he can actually act.
Adam, adam, adam what are we going to do with u and ur movies? Somw of ur movies are sooo stupid and immature, but this was actually a really good movie.
I like a good sports comedy but this was really well done. I cant think of anything else to say. Go and watch this. Especially if u r a adam sandler fan or a movie lover.
The movie was pretty funny. The fact that Caretaker(Chris Rock) died was sad but gave it a....sentimantal and edge. I love football so a movie about football is okay to me.
Enjoyable Sandler film, which does not require knowledge of American football to enjoy. It doesn't wait to reach the story, as instead jumps straight into it in the first 5 minutes. Some well built comedy moments are present, along with some entertaining characters, including Kevin Nash who never delivers a dull scene in it.
I can't believe I haven't watched this til now - sooo much better than I expected. I like Adam Sandlers serious side - it really shows off his true talent. The cast was put together very well - had a few good laughs also - highly recommend!
I went into this movie very skeptical about Sandler movies and this was not a Mr. Deeds type flop. I thought the football scenes were very realistic and the story line stuck close to the original with a couple of new age twists. Rock was the funniest he has been since stand-up and Sandler was the funniest he has been since Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore. Decent surprise roles from Nelly, Stone Cold, Kevin Nash, Goldberg, and Michael Irvin. If you liked the original, go into this one with an open mind not expecting an absolute remake, just an update and you will enjoy this movie.
