    Forget the remake that Adam Sandler did. This my friends is the original from 1974. And this was the movie that basically cemented Burt Reynolds' macho status as one of the top boxoffice male superstars in Hollywood during the 1970's. For one this was a great film in all aspects,and it is worth seeing. The greatest and also the funniest sports movie ever made! Watching Reynolds is simply fantastic and not to mention hilarious to boot. This was a movie that boosted some of the best ever assembled......
    A riveting performance by Eddie Albert(yeah,that Eddie Albert from Green Acres fame)as a sadistic warden of a brutal prison is worth seeing. It also stars several pro-football greats here too including Roman Gabriel,Mike Henry(yes,that Mike Henry of Tarzan fame),Richard Kiel(aka Jaws from the James Bond 007 movies opposite Roger Moore),not to mention Ed Lauter as one of the ruthless security hencemen. Also starring Broadway sensation Burnedette Peters as a seductive secretary.....Great!
