Plot: There's a war goin' on in this bit o' blarney, but it's more than the feud between the fairies and the leprechauns, upon which most of the overwrought tale hangs. It's also a struggle between competin...( read more read more... )g, derivative story lines in this bloated, plodding film that can't decide what it wants to be. It's part Romeo and Juliet, via the seemingly doomed romance of the princess fairy and teenage leprechaun; part contemporary romance, with an uncomfortable-looking Randy Quaid in the romantic lead; and a large part unfocused fable that fills out its Irish stew with a feud reminiscent of Ireland's Catholic-Protestant conflict while throwing in fantastical Braveheart-style battle scenes and Riverdance-like interludes. The most stunning scenes are the fairy sequences that take place in a futuristic castle in the sky (think Wizard of Oz meets Star Wars) and the epic battles with innovative leprechaun bark-and-stick armor. It all makes for a jumble of a long movie, which originally aired as a miniseries on NBC. --Valerie J. Nelson

Well, this was just really good. Except for the part when, like, the headless horseman showed up. That was random. But overall it was sweet!

Ahhh, I miss the days when NBC used to have mini-series events. This film is a great take on the world of fairies and leprechauns. The song in the final scene might even bring a tear to your eye.

Romeo and Juliet meet fairy and leprechaun in this magical adventure...kinda cheesy and predictable...but that is what shapes this movie into the family miniseries it is

The title catches my interest. I doubt they do justice to the myths, but I've been surprised before.

There was no reason I should've ever watched this movie...and am I glad I did. Despite the obviously low production values (poor CGI, terrible acting), it's such a beautiful movie, in the countryside and the love stories.

Low-budget, made-for-tv-movie, total cult flick but one of my personal favourites. It's Romeo and Juliet only instead of Capulets and Monatgues it's fairies and leprechauns. When you take into account how low their budget was and how many huge stars are in it, you can see they did well. Look out for Roger Daltrey as the fairy King!

Loved it, even if it's exactly like romeo and juliet (minus the shakespeare talk) the beautiful love story of Mickey Muldoon and the Princess Jessica, great film.

Um... besides for the fact that this movie is THREE HOURS LONG, and the story with Jack is completely dumb, I like this movie, especially around St. Patty's Day. Yeah, that's usually when I watch it. Princess Jessica is awesome. And so is Mickey. Aww! I love the Fairies and the Leprehcauns!

the screenshots are beautiful. effects are basic, characters are fun and well casted, storyline's reallllly simple. i think it's a whole lot of fun for the family really. the male trooping fairies look gay though.
