This story deserves a bigger budget!

it was a very enticing, thought provoking and extremely immersive experience for me. an awesome work of fiction!!

I have complained many times before about unnecesary over stylization, but here the case is quite the contrary, as happens with that sensationalistic and pseudo intellectual dogma movement, there is nothing interesting in its mise en scene, no storytelling skill whatsoever displa...( read more)yed, so the story rather than being fully exploited becomes a mere recorded play with pitiful production values.

The story had potential though it wasn't that great either. It feels stagy and shallow, as well as the performances, especially that from the lead actor.
When you have something happening in a very limited space, you better do like Hitchcock in "rope" or Polanski in say "death and the maiden" and start leaving your mark on every shot, make it as intense and engaging as they did, 'cause if you don't you'll have a weak attempt of a feature film, tacky and dull, rather than making a convincing contribution to the annals of the "housebound" subgenre.

Was a bit dry, but that's a risk when you make a dialogue driven movie!
  • October 5, 2009
This movie is a great piece of science fiction and it kicks Christianity right in the nuts, so its really good.

Interesting enough story about a man who reveals to his friends just before moving that he was a cave-man and has never died. His professor colleagues debate and question the validity of his story in this film that would fare better I believe on the stage. The entire movie take...( read more)s place in one room with little action and all dialogue and in all fairness was done on a very low budget. Fair performances at best, but the story itself does bring conversation and interest to the table. This was the last writings of acclaimed film and television writer Jerome Bixby.

I loved the premise of this movie. Typically, I prefer movies that take me to new places and this one did, in the mind. A man is having a going away party and drops a bombshell on his collegues. He's 14000 years old!!! Do you believe him? Can you believe him? The ending was also ...( read more)unpredictable, which is rare. I loved it! The only thing I would have to complain about would be the acting of John Billingsley. He's an overactor. Oh, and the movie was low-budget. So if you're looking for special effects and things getting blown up like a typical sci-fi movie, you're not going to find it in this movie.

Interesting but a bit claustrophobic and talky. Clever story and excellent as a character study. For the most part it's well acted. Thought provoking but I didn't find it particularly memorable.

An interesting movie that I think would work better in novel form than on the screen. It's a lot of talking and while the cast does a good job it tends to get a little slow at points. I started to lose interest in the story when it moved into a much bigger plot of how the chara...( read more)cter deals with religion and his role in Christianity. I feel it was a better story when he was just a man who wasn't dealing in world changing matters.
The end was good but due to the low budget of the flick it seemed rushed and small. It was shot too dark and in a small space that started to get to me as the movie went on.
A good watch but I wouldn't rush out to tell people that they had to watch it.

This sounds interesting and intriguing. I'd like to see this film. One of my favorite Soap Opera actresses, Alexis Thorpe, from Days Of Our Lives is in it so i want to see if for her too.

Wonderful, a masterpiece! A very stimulating intellectual exercise, filled with fast-paced, clever comments and some unexpected twists... and above all a fascinating premise. Undoubtedly an instant favorite for me.

This was a great movie. It was nothing like what I thought. I pictured heavy sci-fi, like a Highlander clone. It was a great story, and fascinating idea.
  • July 28, 2009
superb thinking....though I liked it OK.....

I guess this is d only sci-fi moovi tats finished with in a room... :)
  • July 18, 2009
Excellent, cerebral movie. I saw it twice in two days and still missed somethings. "... a man can't be ahead of the best of the race"
  • June 28, 2009
interesting concept, this has a cool feel to it challenging science and religion at the same time. there are a few things that keep this from being really good though. one it really comes off as a made for tv movie with the filming and most of the acting, and two they really puss...( read more) out at the end in every regard. it almost feels like the writer just gives up. for the most part though this is an entertaining movie but i was really pissed at the ending.

For me this movie is one of the greatest
  • May 24, 2009
In some aspects, it´s an anti-film. Conceived as a sofa-discussion, in some momentos the reactions of characters -actors do good, but you can see they are not enormous ones- are more academical than real. However, it´s a strong script, everything is well justified, intelligently ...( read more)thought, and the films deserves to be watched.

Not much of a movie but an interesting thought experiment / idea
  • May 18, 2009
I love this movie - it's so thought provoking.
  • May 17, 2009
Great science fiction without the 'sci-fi'. In fact, the whole film could easily be done on a stage. It dragged a bit long on the topic of religion, but it's a great premise.

Good Movie, But it Falls Short In Convinving Me Of The Man From Centuries Past!!

  • April 4, 2009
A SCI FI FILM that takes place in a room.
    Hmmm could that be interesting.

    Y E S . it is!!!

It is really amazing how they put the whole movie in a location and let the charcaters non stop talking... but it worked! It really worked.

    A great experimental film.
  • March 22, 2009
Yeah this one got a 5 from me. Cry.
  • March 22, 2009

  • March 3, 2009
Bad excuse for some very poor religious philisophy.
  • February 28, 2009
    Very good intelligent film
  • February 27, 2009
When acting is so bad it actually hurts and directing is as amateuristic as if I'd directed it, you'll think that the movie sucks completely. But no, here the brilliant script saves the day. A sci-fi film with absolutely no visual effects, just a conversation among friends. It so...( read more)unds compelling, doesn't it? I would prefer to see this on a theatre stage, though...

  • January 21, 2009
Not that bad, not that good, see for your self
  • January 20, 2009
Brilliant sci-fi/fantasy/concept film that grips the viewer and literally forces him/her to actually think and listen since the entire movie is nothing more than a discussion between a group of college professors. Oh...but what a premise!! Wether you believe the story being told...( read more) or not is not the issue; the movie itself is wonderous in its ability to captivate and serves as pure escapism. Highly recommend!

  • January 11, 2009
So so, quite boring, bt bit interesting.
  • January 5, 2009
This is a great movie for people who want to think, there's no special effects, no cool and freaky guys in costumes, just one man and his friends, talking.
  • January 3, 2009
The acting was horrible and so was the dialogue. So bad it was, I turned it off after about 2 minutes. I went back to it though, and although they are totally sucky, the plot is interesting enough to keep it going. It was VERY talky, but I think David Lee Smith was probably the o...( read more)nly reason it was watchable, because he was the only person who didn't annoy me.
