Considering the lofty expectations that preceded it, The Matrix Reloaded triumphs where most sequels fail. It would be impossible to match the fresh audacity that made The Matrix a globa...( read more

KEANU REEVES IS WILD AND LAWRENCE FISHBURNE IS COOL I LOVE THE STORY LINE AND IMAGINE IF THAT IS REALLY WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON??
This was the first Matrix film I saw, and I have to say that it made sense by itself and I was entertained. Granted... I never got around to seeing the 3rd one, so I guess it kind of failed there (though I hear I didn't miss much)
Back in 2003, I rated this installment as inferior to Matrix Revolutions. Most of it because back then, I wasn't satisfied with the lack of conclusion for Reloaded. Sure, not all questions were answered by the third movie but it had some form of resolution; Smith died, Neo died and peace between man & machines. But watching this movie again makes realize that I actually under rated it! For me The Matrix was about two things: Crazy action and thought provoking philosophy. What Matrix Reloaded did was make those things bigger. Crazy action became over the top action while the philosophy turned from thought provoking to thought exercising (or confusion in most cases).
The action sequences were incredible like the Freeway chase and the Chateau fight. Although the graphics for the Burly Brawl (Neo vs Smith army) looks obviously fake but you can't help getting adrenaline rush watching it. Even small fights like Neo vs agents (I like the music of that fight) or Morpheus vs the twins looks cool. It's kinda funny though, I mean in the first movie Morpheus could not beat Agent Smith yet he can at least stand a chance against an 'Upgraded' agent in this movie.
Some interesting ideas are also thrown in the movie that I don't fully understand anyway or just irreleveant to the story. For example, Merovingian talks about "causality" and it is interesting to hear t but what does it have to do with the plot (I bet some hardcore Matrix fans would immediately have the answer) The Architect scene is great when I watch it again WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES hehe. I think it's up there with Empire Strikes Back's 'I am your father' in terms of movie twists.
Btw, I still don't like the rave scene.

Took the trilogy to its inevitable conclusion and wasn't afraid to make the hard sacrifices when it needed to.
Deze film had dan wel astronomische verwachtingen, de teleurstelling was voor mij zo groot dat ik deel drie helemaal nooit meer gezien heb.

I really enjoyed it, especially the fight with seraph. What is it that drives you Neo? What is the nature of your troubles, and why are you on that path instead of another?
The "Burly Brawl" was awesome!!
-whimperwhine- The twiiiiiiiins.
I loved them, and thought that their part was WAY too short-lived.
But all in all one of the best movies that I've seen in a while.
This part is the best of the series. I really enjoyed it. The philosophical issues pose in the movie weren't that hard to understand.
The action scenes were crazy!!! The Merovingian...he needed his bourgeois self taken down a bit *rofl*
i love all of the matrix movies i love the talk about the possibility of another world running ours and sometimes full believe there is a part of this movie that is true. if i could wake from this world to find a world beyond myself i would want to and if keanu was the one God in that world it really would be heaven!
I love the matrix trilogy not usally my sort of film but i think its great:)
GOD.
I Love The Matrix! Keanu Reeves Rocks!
I Think The First One Was Too Cheesy =|
I Love This One Thought!
And the first had all that philosophical rambling too but it was worked into a STORY, something which Reloaded is severely lacking.
It's got about as much depth as a video game.
It's the poor, stupid cousin of the original. Those action scenes are cool the first time around but after that the movie, when it's forced to rely on story and characters, falls flat on its arse.
The effects are very shiny but completely empty and unmoving. The effects in the original showed us new things, they fitted into the story and they warped our perception of the world the characters lived in. Neo's mouth just plain melted. The Bullet Time served a function (unlike in Trinity's fall where it's just an overblown slow motion shot). The agent training freeze was a neat reversal in the scene. Here, in Reloaded, all we get are big shots of Zion and machines burying (the real world sections of the original were always the least interesting parts), some jumped up kung fu fight which serves no purpose and a highway chase (wow, that's new).
The Matrix had high stakes, a human story, an interesting new world and some amazing action. Reloaded is a direct-to-dvd kung fu film with money.
This has gone above and beyond what most sci-fi movies have, telling a brilliantly conceived (if difficult to understand) storyline and action sequences so incredible youve previously had to imagine them. Watch in shock and awe as impossible odds close in on our hero, and he beats them with one hand behind his back.
Justins Best Bit: ANY action sequence, car chase, chateu, burly brawl, you name it.
