Critic Reviews

  • Jonathan Rosenbaum, Chicago Reader

If you're 14 or younger in age or sensibility, you may giggle at some of the bons mots.

  • Derek Adams, Time Out

Worryingly, the longer this movie goes on, the harder it is to care.

  • Andrew Sarris, New York Observer

I liked this movie and can recommend it with a clear critical conscience, but it never moved me even half as much as Steven Spielberg's A.I.

  • Andrew O'Hehir, Salon.com

A sadder, wiser, more grown-up movie than its predecessor.

  • Richard Roeper, Ebert & Roeper

In the face of almost unbearable expectations, the Wachowski brothers deliver a sequel that soars to places only hinted at in the original.

Its not amazing but the action scenes are so cool!

Good, but not even close to being in the same league as the first film.

  • Directors C

The Matrix Reloaded is an above satisfactory sequel to one of the best science fiction films of all time. Although it is a bit more hard to follow it is still great entertainment and dynamite for people who want to find out what happens next.

Action, and in my opinion a worthy plot of being a good sequel to the first, the trilogy all round is respectable, but this seemed different and somehow... better.

  • Sam B

The action scenes are all fun to watch, and Reloaded brings up some interesting points about power and control, but the dialogue is so ambiguous that pretty much everything anyone says comes off as either plain sci-fi gibberish, or philosophy disguised as sci-fi gibberish.
