A laudible adaptation of the novel by Thomas Hardy.
A good cast, though many are little known. Though long, the story doesn't seem to be over - extended and, though dramatic, none of the cast overacts.

A long cautionary tale, or Edwardian soap opera! Love Ciaran Hinds though.
Fine acting. Nice camera work. Gripping plot. Thought-provoking themes. The only downside is a musical score that is overly repetitive.
