uhm...unrealistic and...stupid?
scared the crap out of me, but such a good film and great mystery, mad me jump out of my seat, but not scary enough for me to leave the lights on
While boasting an atmospheric homage to horror films of the late 60's and early to mid 70's The Messengers has all the making of a great horror film but it lacks the soul, the acting and the true terror to really have the title of a horror/mystery thriller. But what it does...( read more)
«devils mansion» almost the same, what I meant was that It became To predictable...
3 of 5 stars for the suspense movie The Messengers. A family moves from civilization to the middle-of-no-where into an obviously haunted house about two steps better than the Addams Family house. We have an unbalanced daughter and a baby brother who "sees things". The house is pa...( read more)
Not Bad
I as well didn't know anything about this film, and at times I did jump and got a bit scared of what was going to happen next.
I watched this on TV the other day, thinking it ould be "Another Scary Film + A House". But I this film had it's moment of scaring the shit out of me.
Although I rather enjoyed the majority of the ghost effects and the spooky goings on, I was disappointed by the ending. The plot wasn't really much different from the average ghost story, except for the ending.
Overall I'd say it was worth watching once, but I wouldn't go to ...( read more)
Predictable, but not devoid of entertainment. Good cast, haunting setting, but basically like watching "The Others" with some highly stylized special effects (of which I am quickly getting tired - they all seem the same and are just creepy and distracting sometimes). It's not too...( read more)
I love this movie. None of my friends will watch it, but they all say it sounds good.
Not a bad thriller except for the fact there were some really awkward pauses during the movie... Like why doesn't she just turn around?
Actually one of the better horror films to come out for a while in my opinion. After the first 30 minutes it did hand out a plenty of suspenseful moments and genuine jumps and scares, then didn't stop all the way through.
Occasionally the odd cliche involving the background mus...( read more)
Not at all what I was expecting. Film had an interesting twist at the end and creepy vibe through out the movie. This movie doesn't deliver for me. I give 2 1/2 because it was entertaining enough to watch.
i didnt think this movie was great. its the same as six sense concept but it is more terifying than 6sense. nothing special about it but its scares me a bit.
I don't care what other people say, but I really liked The Mesengers. the movie was really interesting and had a few jumpy parts! The script could have been a little better, but overall it was really good. The Grudge and The Ring, was still the best.. I wouldn't recommend it for a...( read more)
This is a mood movie. And this is the problem with a lot of modern "horror" movies and the recent spate of horror from Asia, let alone the middling US dare like this. However, this is a US one made by an SE Asia team. So this movie is all doom and gloom and situations that you ca...( read more)
I watched this movie for the second time and I like the story. You expect it to be a haunted house where the ghosts are trying to kill you, but you never expect who the real killer was/is. That's what I liked most!
the chick in this is so hot. :( they always put hot innocent chicks in horrors.
One good scary movie lots of suspense and Kristen that plays in Twilight is a wonderful actress. Kept me on the edge of my chair and I did not want to leave the room. So many things happen when the family moves into an old farm house. It is haunted by the last family who used to ...( read more)
The perfect horror movie for people who don't like horror movies! And how can you not love Kristen Stewart?
There is evidence to suggest that children are highly susceptible to paranormal phenomena. They see what adults cannot. They believe what adults deny. And they are trying to warn us. Roy and Denise Solomon, and their children Ben and Jess, move from Chicago into a run-down sunflo...( read more)
The ending was so blantantly obvious, but only after it was shown. I was slapping my forehead saying 'Of course. DUH!!!" lol Good flick.
