The movie cannot be taken too seriously (yet it is not a comedy either). A fun watch, but not a movie you yearn to see time after time.
Fine acting, and a wicked plot.
It is nice to see how the same story differs when told by one person and then the other; everyone has their own version - and usually none of them is correct.
Really great screenplay! I loved the mind games Gore Verbinski threw at you and the whole story about the pistol was really romantic, (I liked the end =D).
A contrived plot about a stolen anituqe gun, not an actual Mexican person, takes DiCaprio (badly miscast and unconvincing), and Julia Roberts (also miscast and embarrassingly annoying), to the brink of guy vs. girl insanity. The trouble is the hideous script though, which apparently seems to be about bickering more than an actual road trip crime satire.
I quite enjoyed this movie, I watched it with a friend of mine for the first time and I really like Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts together, they have amazing chemistry.
Brad plays a hopeless fool who always gets into trouble. He does one last job in Mexico with disastrous consquences. While Julia gets kidnapped by a hitman. Brad and Julia have great chemistry.
wow i have just seen this 4 the 1st time n think that this is a really good movie,,i think the director of this Action & Adventure, Drama, Comedy movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie...i think that brad pitt plays a good part throughout this movie,,this has good comedy elemnts throughout this movie,,the scenery throughout the movie of mexico is really nice 2 see throughout the movie..i think that all the actors/actressess in this movie all play good parts throughout this movie
i LOVE this movie!!! i LOVE IT!!!! it's so fantastic!!! it's probably one of my favorite Brad Pitt movies...i'm actually realizing that i really like him as an actor...
This film was ok. I dont think that the performances from Brad Pitt was good at all. Julia Roberts was quite good though. I have seen her and Brad Pitt in better films though. The action in this film is good though. The plot is very weak and strange. He goes to Mexico to find a gun and come back. Not that well directed by Gore Verbinski either really.
I love both Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts. But I just couldn't understand where this movie was coming from and where it was driving at. Even though, I really liked how the film looked and the assassin that was sent to kill Julia Roberts was hilarious.
With a cast like this I thought that the story should be more interesting, but unfortunately I couldn't care less about the characters. I had a hard time finding the funny elements as well so despite good acting and nice environments it's doubtful if The Mexican is worth watching.
I really don't understand this movie. When I first buy the dvd, i thought that ,"Wow this movie will rock! Because the actor and actress who play there are so good". But, eventually when i watch the first 30 minutes, i fell to sleep. God!!!!
Julia Roberts is amazing and the plot was okay, but some of the acting *cough* Brad Pitt *cough* was awful AND WHAT WAS WITH THOSE DUMB TRAFFIC LIGHTS?
