Plot: The story of Jesus Christ.
This is one of the best adaptations of the Jesus story on screen, together with Mel Gibson's and Franco Zeffirelli's. I was a bit disappointed the first time I saw it because the parables abandon the stop motion for modernistic looking animation sequences. But the more I see it, the more I like it. It is done with incredible skill, it is very sensitive, and it is theologically sound (with N.T. Wright on the board of advisors.) I wish it were four times as long, though.
If you want to see more stop motion adaptations of Bible stories, I recommend the two episodes from the 1996 series "Testament: The Bible in Animation" entitled "Ruth" and "Joseph".
English = Wonderful film the history of Jesus.
Portuguese = Um lindo filme sobre a história de Jesus Cristo, fiel ao relato dos evangelhos. Eu e minha família assistimos no domingo de Páscoa (2008) e gostamos muito! Passou no Telecine Light da Sky Brasil.
This movie was amazing! The actors acutally acted and the little fgirl did an amazing job playing Helen Keller.
the best film about thelife Jesus christ which is done in wonderful stop mation animtion give the poular acount of his life
Really good. I love the fact you actually see Jesus as a real person and there are scene when he's just lauhging with his friends and scenes when his mother doesn't want him to go out into the world on his own and it just conveys that he was a real person. I also love the fact that some disciples speak in Scottish accents!
I weep at different points of this film, it is that moving. This film is simply a great introduction to the Gospel message for kids and adults alike. Don't let the different animation styles deceive you into thinking this is a childish production. The voice talents employed are well cast and do an excellent job of conveying the story of Jesus without swamping the viewer. A must see for believers and the uninitiated alike.
