It was VERY violent and hard to get through at some parts. I became bitterly angry and fired up at one scene and almost had to walk away from the movie. It was SO WELL done. Extremely good acting.
If I have to choose.... living with Cate Blanchett...... either...
(LOTR)In Rivendale along with Elijah, Liv, Orlando, Viggo and the rest of the midgets...
(The Gift)Or.. In Brixton, with Swank, Keanu, Ribisi, Holmes, Kinnear, etc.
(Life Aquatic) Or.. Inside the Belafonte with Murray, Goldblum, Wilson, Huston, Dafoe...
(Aviator) Or... In the 1920's with DiCaprio, Law, Stefani, Beckinsale, Reily, Holm, Baldwin, and so on..
(Babel) Or.. In Morroco with Brad Pitt (!)
Orrr.... In Sanford, Gloucestershire with Pegg, Frost, Nighy, Freeman, and the rest of the town (In Hot Fuzz she was uncredited, playing Janine, Pegg's ex-girlfriend on the crime scene)
I would have to say I prefer living in upper Mexico with Tommy Lee Jones, Aaron Eckhart and Evan Rachel Wood :P:P:P
a modern classic with loads of drama, great acting, neat suspense. Lee Jones gives one of his finest performances. i typically liked the rawness of new mexico. but there was something missing and i would not give it a 4 star because it is not the kind of violence which appeals to me.
All in all a well acted and scripted film with good camera work which captures most of the scenery of the American west.
and i will have to mention Cate Blanchett who played her part perfectly [for a change]
I liked the movie, the setting, the actors on the movie are great. Steve Reeves is awesome, Jay Tarava-omg is soo handsome! Tommy Lee Jones looked liked a true half breed!
Good movie. But i don`t think i would like to watch it more then once or twice. Although I think Tommy Lee and Kate did a great preformance here. And of course it was interesting to see it in historical point of view.
AMAZING i was hyper when i watched it and was laughing through the whole thing, then when Val came in i screamed "VAL" my mum and dad were in bed and i started dancing on my bed i love this film is very dramatic and filmed well, love it, i would have loved to play jenna boyds character
i have to admit i thought the movie was pretty crap i didnt think the storyline was that good and i didnt think the acting was that good either this movie could have been alot better
A terribly boring movie. The most action is at the end but after that it just keeps going down hill and before it's all over you get sick of hearing horses!
Don't listen to all the promotional stuff praising this film's supernatural twist because its really not all that evident. Thats not to say it isn't good, I'm just saying they couldn't quite figure out how to market it.
The films is directed very well. Ron Howard really out performs this film from a director's point of view. Tommy Lee Jones proves why he is one of the best out there, and Cate Blanchett is truly amazing and attractive in this film. Great shootout scenes at the end.
Ron Howard has never been worse. I had no idea who to root for. The Indians were obviously bloodthirsty savages ('cause, weren't they always?), but the white people were just dumb. Skip it.
Cate Blanchett's acting is as good as ever, the story however lost me in parts and found it hard to keep my concentration. I think it's definitely one for a one off watch, you're not gonna want to watch this over and over
Cate Blanchett blazes through The Missing, a new Western directed by Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13). The camera truly loves the planes of her face; even dusty and bedraggled, she radiates star power--which is good, beca...
