I do have to say that I was not a huge fan of this movie. It was alright, but there were things that could have been redone. The book is a lot better and I prefer that ending. This ending did nothing for me. As far as the "crazy lady" that was a huge idea of the story, she is meant to be hated, that's the point. I think if Stephen King had more of a hand in the making of this movie it would be better.

To me this is a typical Stephen King movie/book when the concept is basically a simple one and then it is hammered over and over again. These instant-characters who basically come out of a cartoon. I don't care about the special effects so that is not my complaint.
The characters go to the next door drugstore but can't get to the car that is visible from the store window? "Hey, who owns the 2004 Scion"??
The "heroes" go through what they do, only to allow themselves to be shot because they run out of gas? Then the tragic emergence of the Marines 5 minutes after the guy kills his son? C'mon. This seems like a f-you from Stephen King seeing what people will swallow.

It's a very well thought story about where desperation may lead you in times of criciss,I was shocked how quicklly people turned one against the other and how they were listening to all that bullshit from that fake prophet,seeing that pour souldier getting stabbed to death kinda remined me of Jesus on he's last road on this earth.And that end....left me speachless I think most of us whould have done the same.This movie wasn't made to be extremly scarry or to be a huge hit in the box office,but was made to show the hidden dark "otherside" in our human mentality.

Did anyone besides me get the prophetic references (not in what the Bible lady said, but in the events of the movie themselves)? It parallels a lot of what it says in the Book of Revelation in the Bible.

To everyone who goes on about the monsters weren't that scary or whatever - the monsters weren't supposed to be the scary part! What humanity is capable of is supposed to be what chills you, and this movie - delivers! And brilliantly, too.

I loved the scary parts of this movie that would be the only reason i'd tell people to watch it but I hate the ending that tops my list of awful endings. Also the characters are terrible most of them are real stupid I think there just supposed to be crazy but no. I thought even the main charcter Thomas jane plays was bad. He leaves his kid alone most of the film and in the end you all know what he does... I'd like to say so much more but i'll end up typing forever...

This is the kind of movies that should be in the MCT test cause one's appreciation or dislikes, shows how much they really understand movies.

Don't bother renting/watching this movie. Read the book. If you insist upon watching the movie, stop when the start to drive away cause the ending really ruins this movie!

can I give this a 0 rating when I see it on tv for free? It's nothing more then a rip off of the fog and there was nothing scary about that so why would I want to see this piece of crap just because Seven King wrote it?

i solved this movie, i read the book and them watched to movie .. they were similar, the movie didn't mess up the book. and the ending was messed up i will admit, but at least it ended. the actors were good, and the effects were sweet. i would buy the DVD... and if anyone wants to give me a christmas gift i would like this movie lol ^^

okay..i didnt really like this movie because i just thought it was kind of stupid...and i didnt like the ending at all.i dont mean to offend any body who likes this movie...its just i have my own oppinion about this movie..and this is one movie to me when i can only see it once and wouldnt want to see it again.so i'm sorry if i offend anyone,but dont comment back to me saying stuff about my comment.so thanks.

grear movie. yeah the effects arent that great cause they had a low budget but the movie was still really good. Great ending.

This movie had brought out alot of emotions in me lol. I was shocked, mad, and happy, and then sad. but for those of you that hasn't seen this film u really need to because movie was GRRRRREAT!!!!!!

Haha yeah when that crazy god lady died...she got a standing ovation! Everyone clapped and cheered. Its about freakin time!!!! haha I think the movie would have been alot better without her in it! But thats just me..oh yeah and everyone else in the theater! lol.

When Marcia Gay Harden's character died, I swear the whole audience was like ,"About time", "Finally"...and so forth. Everyone was glad that crazy bitch died...lol!

I loved this movie. Great scares and suspense. But why did it have to end that way? It was so sad. But overall, it was a good movie.

ok here it goes... great film, had everything you needed. but this movie pissed me off because of the way it ended (dont get me wrong it didnt leave u hanging or anything like that) great ending. but.. as for me.. i wasnt too crazy about it. Yet and still it was a great movie, a must see.

Not so often you get to see a horror film with a great cast,great dialog & top notch performances just the whole package ,specially Thomas Jane best performance of his career but i feel like Frank Darabont did spend too much time with characters trying to explore some issues among them,perhaps for the purpose to deliver a message or make a point but at times goes for too long.The film delivers very intense action sequences that becomes suspenseful & so effective specially the scenes without any music.Overall is a good horror monster flick that has good creature attacks & few gory moments.The great finale that suppose to be shocking was more as a surprise to me but i felt a little bit disappointed.

I am SERIOUSLY looking forward to this one. This is one of my favorite novella's of King's, and it's high time it was made into a movie. 1408 was a favorite, too, and I can't wait to see THAT, either lol But I plan to see this one in the theater :)
