If you like slapstick, bad puns and airplane like humor (Which I do) then this is the movie for you. It's typical Leslie Nielson, made me laugh the whole way.
Altough I may not like it as much as the first movie, it's definitely a comedy worth returning to. Leslie Nielsen is still the uncrowned king of dead-pan comedy, as he always knows how to make the best of what he has to work with. So if you're in for 90 minutes of good clean fun, then this movie sure makes for a worthy choice.
Nowhere near as good as the original. Then again, there are very few films that exist that are as good as the original Naked Gun. A very good effort for a sequel, and very, very funny.
Part one was one of the funniest movies in history to me. So this sequel had a lot to live up to. Still very funny, but just can't come close to the side-splitting hilarity of the first. But i'm sure glad they tried. Leslie Neilsen is such a natural!
brilliantly on par with the first. same wacky humour loaded with sight gags, parodies, puns, and the like. even the credits are funny. "Welcome Home General Schwarzkopf" another excellent movie from ZAZ.
David Zucker is genius, Leslie Nielson does a fantastic job portraying Frank Drebin, and I died laughing after watching this flick. 'The smell of fear', even the title sounds perfect. How does one trilogy parody cop movies? David Zucker. I would have to say that this movie opened another door for Zucker and has brought him more chances in Hollywood.
The wacky sequel of based on TV comed series' Police Squad is outrageously and hilarious funny. This film lacks the zip of the original, but it's still a nutty romp.
Oh yes, I really do like this police spoof movie due to Leslie Nielsen's funny comedy antics. I recently saw "The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell Of Fear", which summarizes the funny story of hero Lt. Frank Drebin uncovering a plot on sabotaging America's energy policy by villain Quentin Hapsburg, played by the late Robert Goulet. The moment I first saw this movie, I was so surprised that the wheelchaired Dr. Meinheimer was played by Richard Griffiths, who played Uncle Vernon in the "Harry Potter" movies. With the silliest humor that gave me the laughs, including how Nordberg (O.J. Simpson) gets knocked over by items lying on the road in his groin or how animals escaped the zoo because of a crashing tank, this "Naked Gun" movie is more funnier that its predecessor. Just accept that fact.
This movie is just as classic as the original. I can't ebelive that so many people at flixster gave the first one low ratings. It's as much of a comedy classic as airplane!
Plus this sequel is certainly better than Airplane 2 lol. The dinner scene at the White House is hilarious and there's many laughs that follow.
More anarchic comedy genius from Neilsen, Kennedy and Simpson.
Not as jaw achingly funny as the first movie however this sequel contains enough wit and slapstick to keep the viewer entertained throughout.
Neilsen's performance is possibly even stronger than the one he gives in the original (that's some moustache had me laughing for about fifteen minutes non stop) but the use of Kennedy wasn't as good.
I also liked the fun that was poked at the white house, great satire in a couple of places.
All in all, the movie is more of the same stuff and that's definitely not a bad thing in this case.
To me, this one is definitely the best of all three Naked Gun's! Frank is just hilarious in this sequel! It seems as if he gets crazier as time goes by. Really... I laughed the whole time, from the beginning til the end. The first five minutes alone made me cry from laughing so hard! Good comedies start off like that. And with this one, you never get bored... at least I didn't.
Sequel syndrome takes over in the second part of the series, in which good ol' Frank gets himself into more unfortunate scrapes. The jokes don't come as thick and fast as in the first film, and generally aren't as funny, though Leslie Nielsen carries things along with his trademark charm and charisma.
