I wanted to watch this film because the original argument, and the pity is that they could have achieved either a good erotic film and a reflection about the relations about victims and executioners, and they only got both objectives in a partial way.

Borderline exploitative but there's a nice classy dramatic touch that separates it from the genre. Overall a really good exploration of a very odd relationship.

August 13, 2007Love this movie. Was lucky enough to recently get a big 27" by 43" (or somesuch) size poster of it, framed it, proud owner of Criterion version. I have to admit that after 30 years later the famous flashback scene to the concentration camp looks a bit like a Siouxsie & the Banshees video...
