Plot:
This remake of Neil Simon's 1970 comedy finds Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin as Ohio yokels cast adrift in Rudy Giuliani's sanitized New York City. With their son recently departed for Britain, the empt...( read more

My two favourite comic actors team up again. Their son has just left home, so they head to New York for a break, but get into all sorts of trouble,
Scene this flim loads of time but it always makes me laugh, mainly because of its pun jokes and parents not being able to understand the big apple. This is what makes this flim funny.
Very few re-makes of a movie are as good as the original and this one is no exception.Had I not seen the original perhaps this movie would have seemed funnier. The comedic talents of Steve Martin seemed strained as though he was having to carry the movie himself. Some of the scenes were juvenile and prankish rather than being sustained by the mature, laconic and ironic humor of it's classic original. The beauty of Goldie Hawn helps and John Cleese carries well but in all it's a disappointment and not very pleasing to the discretionary palate.
This was pretty good. It was laugh your ass off funny but I did enjoy it. I cant believe all the problems they went through. Goes to show how ppl from the country does in new york. I probably wont really watch it again though.
THe two make a great duo. Martin is not a favourable comedian though here he earns himself credit. A great movie with great comedic drama.
While both Steve Martin and Goldie give likable performances and there are some funny moments but sadly the overall film itself is pretty so-so. The direction was routine and the script is blandly written. In the end it is watchable but it is also pretty forgettable as well.
The first hour of the movie is quite slow... but I did laugh at the scenes with John Cleese in them. Other than that, not a great movie.
Pretty standard and formula this movie was only funny because of Hawn and Martin and even then it failed in many places where it should have soared. Most Simon plays cross over beautifully to screen, this one just didn't...
it was so funny
the best scence was when they were both caught by the mayor having sex in the new park.............A LOVE IT
Different from the original of course, but very funny, always impressed with Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn. They played well together in this movie.
Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn reunites since "HouseSitter" in this remake comedy film is a bit of laughs.
Little of a disappointment. One would have expected more fireworks when these two get together yet again, but much like Hanks/Ryan the magic is gone...
A hilariously funny comedy featuring the comedic genius of Steve Martin and John Cleese and an excellent performance by Goldie Hawn. The story of a couple from Ohio who visit New York City and have the most incredible bad luck in a series of hilarious but unfortunate events. Highly Recommended!
Slammed by many critics, this comedy has fine performances by the two leads and although it is a little silly is great fun to watch.
This movie is ludicrous. I don't find it entertaining at all. The humour was not funny. Weak plot. The fact that I even considered a star for this movie is because Steve Martin is in it.
Another great collaberation between Hawn and Martin- John Cleese joins them as a cross-dressing hotel manager.
