Guillermo Del Toro has his masterpiece in this film as he melds harsh reality with fantasy as a little girl Ophelia is forced to create her own fantasyland where she is the princess so she can triumph over her current situation. The creatures are fantastic both menacing and welcoming from the mischievous Pan to the little fairies. The atmosphere is great and film beautiful from start to finish. One of the most haunting scores I have heard with that little lullaby. Definitely not one for all tastes with its unflinching violence, but a beautiful film nonetheless.
It was a good story about how the human world and fairie land remain separate despite the existance of magical creatures
I loved the characters in the film, especially Pan. Doug Jones really does know how to bring weird and wonderful creatures to life.
It was a lot different to what I expected it to be, darker and more sinister than I expected it to be.
Oh god. Such a beautiful, beautiful film. And so disturbingly creepy at the same time. A dark fairy tale of innocence and the process of growing up, filled with violence, fauns, hidious monsters and torture. As much as the word "fairy tale" sounds, this is not a movie for the faint of heart or stomach. It's not rated MA/R for nothing!
But truely. One of my favourite movies, since, like ever. Must see.
Acting was amazing, and the filmography was beautiful for that I would give it 5 stars. But it was rather disturbing... a real-life nightmare for the main character.

this movie is like the best of all time!!!!!!! i'm going pans labyrinth freakish! and the faun is so cute! ;)
I Loved this movie! It had great special effects! I do think that there was a little too much violence! (of course I really didn't mind it) If you would like to see a really great fantasy movie! This is it! It is my favorite! I think it had a happy ending because the girl went with her parents instead of staying with that evil Stepfather (who died anyway) I think that she was a little stupid because she ate a grape after that faun told her not too, but I do think the guy at the table who put his eyes in his hands was awesome!!! THIS IS A MUST SEE MOVIE!
Oh god!You must see this movie,it's absolutely beautiful. And allegorical,I think, because the always die in wars.
Pretty underwhelming..
The Spirit of the Beehive (which influenced this) and Ivan's Childhood both do much better jobs at portraying the inner world of children during war.
If your complaning that it can't be in english then mayb e you should stick to some close-minded movie to feel more comfy. this movie was wonderful and I loved every second of it. This Adult version on Alice in wonerland will move you.
Filme sensacional!
