An exceptional adaptation in terms of both the novel and the musical.
The cast was very pleasing; especially Emmy Rossum. Choosing an actress close to the character's own age was a good move. Usually, the role would be filled by an experienced actress in her late twenties, but 1... ...( read more )
What an amazing joy ride. The cast was wonderful, they hit them all on the nail. The performances are very memorable and I was very surprised about some of them. visually stunning musical epic. however there's nothing more to relish than the visuals. even minnie drivers part is boring in it. the songs are all similar at best

It's sort of like the shot-for-shot remake of Psycho. What's the point? This is just a clumsy, tedious, and altogether inferior version of the great Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.
