Al-Aqur (Aasif Mandvi) is a detainee in an American military prison who finds himself standing before a tribunal overseen by three military judges. Al-Aqur has been accused of providing support to a band of Al Qaeda terrorists whose actions led to the death of American troops. Al-Aqur insists he's innocent and a victim of mistaken identity, but as he faces Col. Simms (Kate Mulgrew), Col. Jefferson (Peter Riegert) and Capt. Miller (Sig Libowitz), he's hardly in a position to defend itself -- the U.S. representatives will not disclose who presented the allegations against him, and he's not permitted to see the classified evidence against him, as American officials believe this would be an unacceptable breach of security. But if this is America's response to an injustice, is true justice being served? The Response was based on actual transcripts of military tribunals held at Guantanamo Bay, and was produced in cooperation with the University of Maryland School of Law, who provided locations and advice on military legal procedures. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
