not great , not to bad
  • December 1, 2009
Sarah Gellar has done a lot of horror. This one happens to be well thought out and clever. A good performance,e and neat plot twists. I like her other films, (except for the idiotic Buffy), but this one really seems to stand out. I was impressed and pleasantly surprised. Now...( read more) if I can just figure out how to become tied up in my own basement to fulfill my own selfish agenda...

  • November 16, 2009
    Supernatural Thriller/Horror? No.
    Very long, boring mystery? Yes.
  • November 12, 2009
absolutly rubbish! was not even worth watching....most of the 'mystery' was basically trying to rip off other movies that make you wonder whats going on but done shit, so it makes no sense whatsoever - terrible terrible film.
  • October 17, 2009
Could be interchangable with The Ring/The Grudge/Every other creepy-assed movie inspired by a Japanese creepy-ass movie. Sarah Michelle Gellar is still hot though.
  • September 22, 2009
So unnecessary. I was expecting a solid horror but I couldn't believe that I had this crappy movie. Don't waste time on this.

suspense thriller starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sam Shepard and Peter O'Brien. written by Adam Sussman. directed by Asif Kapadia.

Joanna Mills (Gellar), an aggressive young woman who works as a successful saleswoman in the trucking industry, has long avoided Texas ever since h...( read more)er childhood. but when a big deal pops up, she forces herself to return to her hometown. nightmares and what seem like flashes of déjà vu lead Mills as she begins to put together the pieces of a tragic mystery.

I was expecting another Grudge-type film, full of gore and cheese, but that's not what this film is. sure, it has elements of the supernatural, but this one is more of a murder mystery-type film.

predictable, but still a decent enough plot. it just seemed like the cast was kinda walking through this one, which made it difficult to invest in the characters. an okay enough film.

It can be compared to the butterfly effect as it has that supernatural kind of story which is very well written and i will go on to say that to me this was better than the butterfly effect. Most importantly the acting is top of the line from all the actors specially Sarah's.

This waz a prettie good movie!! Not the best but its still good!! So totally go see it!!
  • July 28, 2009
This was an ok film with a good story behind it, but a bit slow.
  • July 19, 2009
Not uch to enjoy, not much to gain, not much to attract. In short, not much.
  • July 18, 2009
Surprisingly good, despite Sarah Michelle Gellar being in it. I just can't take her seriously in any role, because of "Buffy"!
  • July 14, 2009
This was a great movie. I was expecting it to be more of a horror movie, but it was actually really well made suspense/thriller/mystery. It's just scary enough to keep you jumping and realistic enough to keep you interested. I can't say much more without giving away spoilers.
  • July 13, 2009
Me and my sister stoped watching the movie after 20 minutes of the movie, it was that boring. I love Gellar but not in this movie.

  • May 3, 2009
    Ok, a bit slow though
  • April 14, 2009
That is how I felt at times. The movie moves at a snails pace. That was during the interesting parts. The story is pieced together as if a 3 year old tried to hammer together a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle.

Sarah's acting was not bad as some say, but the rest of the cast's acting...( read more) leaves little to be desired. Especially "the bad guy" and the "looser guy friend".

Visual's? WHAT visuals. It takes place in a poverty ridden small town in Texas that by sheer definition screams NO VISUALS.

Sarah plays a sales person on the beat for the "killer deal" with the tough-but-fair business owner in the (and get this) fast-paced, trendsetting, cut-throat GRAIN HAULING BUSINESS. OMG.

There was no crowd reaction... ever. Save that one time when this portly girl clodded down the stairs from the back row to fetch more popcorn. There were maybe two times the movie "scared me." But it was the step-on-a-cats-tail, while-waking-through-a-haunted house, then-cat-screams-then-you-scream type of moments. (did that make sense?) Oh well. If it did not, then you pretty much feel like my sister and I did through the entire showing.
In the end you get... Wait... You don't get anything except a sigh of relief and the peace of mind that you are one tough cookie to have sat it out. Well, that maybe a little misleading. You do figure out what MIGHT have caused all the hoopla, but not in the "give your buddie a high five" manner one could at-the-least appreciate. MP's HOLY GRAIL had a much better ending and they ran out of money making that movie.

Seriously, I have only walked out of one movie my entire life: Battlefield Earth... it took nerves of steel and Superman style fortitude to see this movie through.

Pass unless you like paying good money to see terrible movies. You know what, I take that back. Go watch this movie so you can really appreciate how much I tried to save you from the pain.

Poor Sarah. I was not a Buffy fan, but for some reason, I wanna see her do really well. Especially after Grudge 2 or as I lovingly call it, "A Dismal Failure". I wish she would have passed on this role.
  • April 5, 2009
A simple ghost story that is, for all its faults, elegantly shot and beautifully scored.
  • April 3, 2009
Utterly boring throughout, which is a shame because I feel a lot more could have been made from this storyline. I can?t really call this an anti-climax as that would suggest there a build up before hand.
  • April 3, 2009
    It wasn't that scary...
  • March 26, 2009
Don't expect big things to happen in this movie. It is a quiet, thoughtful little movie that is actually quite good given its objectives, not all out horror, mind you. The acting of the leads, Sarah Michelle Gellar and the unknown guy who played Terry, are searing and thought-pro...( read more)voking. The cinematography was amazing, especially in that scary scene, when SMG was looking at her reflection in the mirror and looked down for a while, then another woman's face was left where SMG's face used to be. must admit that there is one key factor that was a little too conveniently introduced from out of nowhere. This was the only drawback in my opinion. Along with the useless (and illogical) presence of the Adam Scott character. But overall, all the loose ends seemed well tied up. The seahorses, the cars involved in the accident, the haunting song that keeps playing, the earring around Terry's neck...the resolution on how these small details contributed to the story gave me a very satisfied feeling at the end of the movie.
  • March 14, 2009
Not a bad story. Just not compelling.
  • February 28, 2009
very impressive. it's an awsome movie.
  • February 18, 2009
God I sucked into to watched this crapfest at a girlfriend's house...a little bit of my life gone to waste.
  • February 7, 2009
I don't know why I even tried to watch this. I can't stand Sarah Michelle Gellar, and it looked like an even worse, All-American version of The Grudge (which it was). Plus, who the hell names a town La Salle? That's French for "the room."
  • January 22, 2009
This movie is too slow to be good. If you like watching Geller brood then you'll have a good time, but the slow music and pacing nearly put me to sleep. It seems like this could have been another one of her Japanese horror films, where the ending payoff is never worth the time yo...( read more)u have to put in to get there.
  • January 19, 2009
Most people put this in the category of supernatural thriller, well it didn't thrill me. To me the best part of the movie was the 2 car wrecks at the end. Funny thing is during the whole movie didn't see one cop, and hey do you know how to dial 911 Bozo, glad this one was a rent...( read more)al, and more glad I didn't see it in the theater. Not even worth the $1.00 movie theater. And if you buy it you mort the likely will RETURN IT. 2 Stars Baby

  • September 24, 2008
ok I can see many didn't care for this however as a writer I can say this was wonderfully done. Ok, why? Well to bring someone into the world at the exact moment another is leaving it happens all the time right... even if we don't know it. Ok, that said the idea that one might ha...( read more)ve hmm flash backs or dajavu at locations or seeing people hmm is that possible yes even if we don't like to admit that point... Movie you have to see from the begging. Joanna has nightmares about a woman. As a child she drew pictures of sea horse and of a town she doesn't remember. • August 31, 2008
Good movie. If you're watching it for the first time it can be confusing or even annoying but once you know what's going on and why,it's a good mystery type movie.
  • August 29, 2008
Pretty lame movie. I watched it thinking it was gonna be really interesting but it wasn't good. It wasn't boring but nothing really good was happening. Pallack from Tell Me You Love Me was in it.
  • August 23, 2008
Good movie..I like how the story mixes drama wth the thrill and mystery..
